To the joy of retro gamers everywhere, I bring you new, reborn Commodore 64. This isn't the old 8-bit baby you played with back in the day. Instead, it's finely tuned, retro-styled machine that blends old and new like none other. The new hotness can be attributed to Commodore USA finally getting the required licensing agreement to being recreating these classic gaming relics into two new models.
The first, lower end, "Commodore" model is powered by an Intel Atom 525 CPU, graphics powered b...
Space Invaders constructed with Star Wars mini-figs.

Space Invaders scenes constructed out of miniature Star Wars figures. Does it get any geekier? I'd love to see you find something that is. From the brain of Chris McVeigh, the Star Wars Space Invaders plaque would make a fine addition to any wall. Too bad it's not my own. But hey, it's motivation for myself to get out there and get crafty. Be sure to check out Chris's other nerdy toom foolery on his Flickr page.

It may showcase a simpler time. A time in which we measure graphics chips by MHz and graphics by bits. But that doesn't matter. This Duck Hunt t-shirt is bad ass. It was up for vote on Threadless.com for printing. Unfortunately, it appears it didn't win the vote. Pity. I'd buy it. Hell. I'd by ten.

Space Invader Couch touches down.

Nothing says geek like a gigantic Space Invaders couch sitting front and center in your living room. Not only that, but this geeky piece of gaming culture actually looks really damn slick as well. Form and function all in one package -- nice! Too bad it's just a concept. Hopefully the designer gets this project in motion, because I want like ten of these things...

Old school P2P music transfers: DIY Vinyl record copies.

Even with all of the convenience and other sonic qualities of digital music files, some people simply prefer the sonic fidelity of good 'ol fashioned vinyl records. Amongst the supporters, hardcore audiophiles tend to pop up as the natural, slightly warm analog sound is something that many claim digital audio just can't reproduce faithfully. Nevertheless, regardless of where you stand, it's easy to see that making backups of your precious records aren't quite as easy as hitting "copy"/"paste"....
The DIY LEGO Headphones.

I fancy myself a nice pair of headphones. Hell, when I was at CES I was like a kid in a candy store, There were tons of high-end personal audio manufacturers there, all with working display models which resulted in me killing several hours not reporting. But it was all good clean fun.
What I didn't see at CES, however, were these -- the LEGO headphones. As you can imagine, these DIY miniaturized music boxes are pretty easy to make as long as you can grasp the basic concept of a LEGO, ha...

Much like the Pac-man iPhone 4 wallpaper before it, the Donkey Kong iPhone 4 (3GS too!) wallpaper blends in rather nicely with the whole icon grid layout, wouldn't you say?

RetroN3 NES: Sega Genesis, and SNES all-in-one!

If you're like one of the countless other kids (and even some adults) who grew up during the 90's, you've no doubt acquired your own fair share of gaming systems. For some, they became the objects of garage sales on the $10 table. For others, a box, an attic, and some dust fit the bill. Wherever they ended up, you can't help but get an itch to play them every now and then. But what if you don't have the console anymore and are left with boxes of old game cartridges to several different syst...
Pac-man iPhone 4 wallpaper takes the cake.

One small feature (if you could call it that) introduced with iPhone 4 and iOS 4 was user changeable backgrounds on the main icon screen. Obviously, solid colors or simple background work best. While I've understandably seen some truly atrocious user-created attempts at design, this Pac-man wallpaper is easily one of the geekiest and coolest wallpapers for any iPhone 4/iOS 4 user. What do you guys and gals think?
