Going where no car dare: The Google Maps Street View Snowmobile.

  • February 9, 2010 4:41 pm

Call the Google Street View team lazy all you want. I mean, they do ride around in a car all day snapping pictures of clueless humans and other random occurrences. But little did I even know that there is a more rugged and mobile Google Street View team. Evidence of such can be found with the Google Street View Snowmobile above.

When the nicely paved streets end, the mercury drops, and the snow starts a fallin’, the Google Street View team has even the rugged Yukon terrain covered. For your viewing entertainment, a short video of the Snowmobile that sees it all.

Corsair FlashVoyager GT stows 128GB of non-moving goods within it’s rubber shell

Need a rugged, high capacity, and relatively quick flash drive? Look no further than the Corsair FlashVoyager GT now topping out at 128GB. Capacious? Certainly. Super GT? Eh. I have an older Corsair FlashVoyager 32GB and while the size is might handy, god save my soul if I ever wanted to fill it up as that would mean leaving it do it’s thing…overnight. While that particular drive I had averaged 8-12MB/second, the GT is roughly around 15-20MB/second bringing a decent bump in speed. And yes, as always, being on the cutting edge does come with certain price barriers. This particular one weighing in at $380 after the $20 mail-in rebate. Is $400 of rugged, portable flash storage that important that you need to drop that much for some stacked silicon and rubber? If I had the cash, you bet I would.
