Sony meanwhile, says that the December 31st date is merely a place holder and that such things are left up to the retailer — they more or less pick a random date within the launch window provided by the developer or manufacturer. Backing up that claim is the fact that retailers GameStop and Target have January 1st listed as they date of release.

Of course, if you really want to stretch it, early January is technically considered part of the holiday season. Looking at it in that light means Sony is right on schedule, even if it’s not the schedule any of us want.

Unfortunately for die-hard GT5 fans, it looks like this Christmas will be spent without GT5 keeping you company.

I’m not going to lie, I am a HUGE Sim City fan, forget the fan that I’m terrible at actually sustaining a city and my townsfolk always end up hating me and moving away.  Back on topic, this game is awesome.  I’ve only had it for 30 minutes but am loving it already.  If you are a huge Sim City fan do not pass this up!  Head over to the App Store and pick up your copy of sweet goodness for $9.99!
