T-Mobile has officially rolled out 3G to your area! Why have am I highlighting one small midwestern town in northern Indiana? Well, for starters I live there. Second, back when I had TMO a couple years ago and all of their 3G talk was just starting, I was eagerly anticipating this fine day. For now I’m running on Verizon because of the Droid. But just like many of you, I’m not partial to any one carrier. Whoever offers the coolest phone at the time will get my dollars. So while I can’t officially test or benefit from TMO’s new set of faster legs, I can at least pass the information on to my fellow local readers. You know the drill — grab your TMO 3G loving handset and fire it up…
Following the drumming God from South Africa, I’ll begin to head down a different path. A path that hits a little closer to home in fact. Any musician who regardless if they’ve made it big or not, has a deep love and understanding of local music and the support needed when a “big night” consist of a crowd in the 3 digit range. While the ultimate goal of any local band is to become famous, the one thing that should never leave priority spot number 1 is that of good music. The term “good music” is debatable and subjective from person to person. However, no matter the genre, local music is almost like a sort of school pride in that those who follow the band are proud of them, the music they make, and the humble origins from which they originated.
So, the highlight of the “local music” video for the evening is from my favorite local band here in South Bend, Indiana — Driven.
