HTC Evo 4G unreleased. Already rooted.

HTC Evo 4G unreleased. Already rooted.

Score one for rooters everywhere. Android by itself in stock flavor is already pretty robust and customizable (unless you’re rockin’ an AT&T Android device). But rooting brings in a few extra goodies, namely tethering/wifi hotspot ability without being milked by carriers. With the impending release of the “Jesus Phone” of Android phones — the HTC Evo 4G of course — many users are looking at moving from their currently rooted and...

WiMax no longer Sprint’s 4G tech of choice? LTE jumps out the window as WiMax busts through the bedroom door…

As we’ve watched the 4G train travel along (albeit slowly), Sprint has made it pretty clear whom they think will be *the* next generation in wireless technologies. That is of course none other than WiMax itself. In the few markets it’s currently available in, test have proven that it is indeed fast. But there’s the nagging bit that it’s still only available in a few cities despite nearly a solid year of being available. Rolling out such speedy...

Sprint jumps ship on Nexus One, puts all eggs in Evo 3G basket. GS says: Good!

I really don’t understand all the fan fair and crying-in-your beer syndrome that has been mounting over various partners dropping Nexus One support. A few months back, the Nexus One spec sheet was the phone to beat. For Android, it was *the* phone on top. And then HTC came around with the Incredible on Verizon causing many to decry the loss of the Nexus One on VZW. The Incredible is better than the Nexus One in just about every aspect. If VZW’s news was...

Sprint rolling out new prepaid $25 unlimited text/data plan for those allergic to voice calls.

One issue I have with cellular plans besides their general overpriced nature is that it is damn near impossible to get a texting and/or data package with little to no voice minutes. Sprint’s freshly announced $25 plan still won’t give nerds what they really want, but it’s a step in the right direction… Dubbed “Beyond Talk”, those with an adversity to yapping on phones can feel better about themselves, not worrying about hundreds of...

Samsung Moment 2 gets the blurry cam treatment. [Leak]

The Samsung Moment is pretty much your only Android choice on Sprint if you’re the type who digs a full qwerty *physical* keyboard. Overall, it’s a pretty sweet phone (and I actually prefer it’s styling to the DROID’s I might add). Though, being stuck on Android 1.6 is certainly a party killer. Thankfully Android 2.1 is slated to make it’s way to the Moment in the near future. That phone is barely 6-months old (debuting in September 2009)...
