LG readying next version of GD910 Watch Phone

The GD910 watch phone was by far the coolest watch phone I had seen thus far. It was extremely classy and techie looking — a far departure from your typical watch phone which often comes away looking like a Miami Vice edition complete with 80′s build quality and all. The GD910 while a niche product and low sales was proof that a cool watch phone could be built.

Apparently there was enough demand that one generation just wasn’t enough as LG has the GD910′s successor scurrying the lab looking for a release date. John Barton, LG’s UK sales and marketing director was quoted saying that “several” more styles of GD910 are coming. Now I would love to think that a new design/version is coming, but it could also mean that something as simple as an extended color palette is all that we’ll see. Obviously I hope for the former as the latter is a cash grab.

If you didn’t pick up the GD910 the first time around, would new colors or even a completely new model finally break your resilience to open up that death grip on your wallet?

Coke Zero Spy Cam: A carbonated beverage…James Bond Style

  • October 30, 2009 12:46 pm

Being a real spy means you need at least one spy gadget. Spy pens get a lot of attention these days as they’re ubiquitous and everyone has one. But only the really sly spies have cameras hidden in even more “out of the ordinary” objects. Objects such as your ordinary Coke can.

The cool thing about this Coke Zero hidden camera is that everything is hidden inside the can ($GB of storage and all) meaning you don’t have any give away seams, clips, or fasteners. To get the captured media out, simply plug in to the USB port conveniently hidden on the bottom of the can. I can see quite a few good pranks getting pulled with such devices. The only thing keeping me from pouncing on such a gadget instantly is the $53 that isn’t quite in that “impulse buy” region. Still, it is mighty tempting.

Catch the dirrty dirt with the “Voice activated Wall Socket Spy Camera.

  • October 23, 2009 8:51 am

Even though we featured a spy camera of sorts earlier this morning, this variation of the spy camera is just plain cool. Plus, with all of this spy talk I’m eager for some R&R time with a comfy couch, gallon of ice cream, and a James Bond marathon. Fuzzy slippers might even make the cut *nervously shifts eyes*.

Spy cameras usually have one general flaw — they require the operator to manually push some sort of button which can lead the one being spied upon to suspect something less than kosher. For those looking to take their spying to the next level, the Voice Activated Wall Socket Camera is just thing tool to add to your collection.

The appearance is rather odd for a socket. I’m not sure if it comes in different styles for different countries as a socket pictured above in my mid-western house just wouldn’t quite hold that element of surprise I’m looking for. Although, the voice activated quality redeems this gadget for the most part.

The voice activation however is the featured item of this camera. Once voices nearby rise above 65db, the camera automatically starts recording for up to 5 minutes after voices cease. Storing your secrets can be done via TransFlash cards in sizes up to 8GB — that should hold plenty for even the more serious geeks/spy’s in training.

Privacy fears are probably piquing right about now for many of you and for good reason. Anyone can install this. But remember, it’s not hard to spot this if you really pay attention. The socket formation like your normal socket. Get ‘em while they’re hot (or removed by law enforcement).

So you want to be a real secret agent like James Bond? Besides the dashing good looks, fine taste for alcoholic beverages, and a know-how with the ladies, one piece of gadgetry that any Bond in training shouldn’t leave his secret layer without is the Keychain Car Remote Spy Camera. Instead of just a boring ‘ol keyless remote for you trust grocery getter, this particular remote packs in several extra goodies. To start off, it has a video camera stuffed inside that will record video at up to 640 x 480 AVI format. With 4GB of storage on board, you’re looking at several hours of video capture for all of your secretive duties. But it doesn’t stop there. Also included is support for mass storage mode meaning your little hidden camera can also double as a flash drive. Finally, if you’re in the heat of the moment and need a quick camera shot to save info for later, well, this little remote can do that for you too. Pricing for the James Bond car remote is still up in the air. Until then, you’ll just have to make due with whatever you have.
