It seems as if we’re always seeing new and innovative electrical outlet designs. On the flip side, however, we never really see anything new and exciting when it comes to what’s actually being plugged into said outlet. The cable that tethers our gadgets and electrical devices hasn’t changed in decades. Why should everything else have all the fun?
That’s what the “Line Block” hopes to change. The key design element with the Line Block is the puzzle-like design which allows the stacking or coupling of multiple cords. As anyone who owns their fair share of electronics, having stackable/easily containable cords is a god send. If we had the Line Block now, we could throw out all of those twist ties as well as over priced cable management solutions.
Of course, the biggest hurdle isn’t making all of these cables — Ultimately needing hundreds of millions, if not billions — but actually getting dozens upon dozens of hardware/gadget/electronics manufacturers to all come together and agree on some kind of standard so that the Line Block could actually be born. To dream the impossible dream…

I think this is going to be huge, and is probably already going to be the best creation of 2010. With all the fighting Apple insists on doing agains the Jailbreak Community, we might have something that will slap Apple right in it’s core… The iDongle!
I’m sure there are some users out there with a 3G[S] with the newer Bootrom, or maybe someone that has updated foolishly and is stuck with a ‘tethered’ Jailbreak, but for those of you that aren’t aware of what this is, I’ll explain a bit. With some of the newer devices, iPod touch 2g(MC edition) and 3rd gen, as well as the latest round of 3gs’; Apple has plugged some holes and exploits and made it so those of you with these devices after a Jailbreak have to ‘re-jailbreak’ your iDevice every time it shuts off. Now, fortunetly I don’t have a newer 3gs, mine was purchased right after laungh, so I don’t have to deal with this, but I jailbreak many phones and iPods for people, and they are really put off by the idea have not really letting their phone die unless they are near a computer. I completely understand why they’d hate this.
But luckily a peeved Electronics Engineer hated his tethered jailbreak, so he decided it was time to do something about it.
The iDongle is a prototype piece of hardware able to boot your jailbroken device with the lame arse “tethered boot” to jailbreak and hactivate(if not already done).
There isn’t a price yet, but it looks like it might be around 35euros, which honestly, I think people would pay up to $100 for something like this, because there is no guarantee we will be able to find anything that will get us away from the tethered jailbreak.
I’ll try to keep everyone updated on this, since it is a huge breakthrough in the Jailbreaking community.
