We may not talk much about Symbian ’round these parts, but every now and then something news worthy comes through the wire that is worth a nod. Truth be told however, it isn’t because of some new advancement by Nokia or the Symbian backers at large. Instead, a single developer by the name of Asri al-Baker is the star of the day and the brains behind a repackaged Gmail Mobile.
Specifically, al-Baker took the iPhone optimized Gmail web page repackaged it into a web app for Symbian devices. With that said, the link itself is just “http://mail.google.com/mail/x/gdlakb-/gp/”. Though you can pick it up already packaged up nice and neat right over here
If you’re a Symbian user, go ahead and give it a shot. Be sure to let us know how it works!
For many social junkies, having but a single, solitary account to communicate with is absurd, and possibly even insulting. How dare someone think that one account is good enough and everyone else should follow them in their choice of IM client/social networking service. With that said, there are tons of choices in communication services. So much so, it can be hard to keep track of them all. Thanks to multi-chat clients however, grouping all of those conversations, buddies, and accounts into one smorgishboard is a life saver as well as a time saver.
Mobile IM apps and web portals for IM clients are nothing new. Though the latter hasn’t been around quite as long as the stand alone mobile/desktop app nor has it been as fully featured or polished. Can IM+ shake things up a bit when it comes to online browser-based multi-chat? Continue on…

With all of the publicity surrounding Apple, the iPhone, Google, and the rejection of the Google Voice app from the App Store, one can understand why other platforms such as Android and BlackBerry are tooting their horns happily crying out regarding their support for the Apple shunned service. Naturally, those who are trying to catch up to the success that has rained down on Apple and the iPhone (pretty much everyone), have begun talking up the fact that Google Voice will work flawlessly on their platforms. Palm, being the fact they needs some major boosts in the popularity and monetary departments are joining in and announcing that they plan on having full and deep Google Voice integration on the Pre and future devices. The only catch….? Google isn’t even working on a full fledged Pre version of Google Voice at this point and time.

If you are fortunate enough to live in the great city of Chicago, take the bus, and have an iPhone, we have a treat for you. Seems the transit authority in Chicago cares about the more technologically advanced bus riders and has either themselves or through the help of some other party created an iPhone optimized CTA bus tracker site. *You could and still can use the original bus tracker site, however the iPhone one just fits and flows so much nicer.* One simply awesome feature is that you never again have to look at a scheduled bus time and wonder where it’s at and if it is going to actually be on time. The iPhone optimized CTA bus tracker allows you to map via Google Maps the closest bus to your location! This is just one feature of the iPhone site but opens the door for many other unique features. Another feature they could add in the future would be the ability to pay the bus tolls on the iPhone site. Again, so many possibilities not just for the iPhone bus tracker web site but for many other areas as well. Live in Chicago and try the web site out yet? Let us know how it works below!
