It’s late, but amazing awesome stuff doesn’t sleep. After soberly trolling the interwebs for something to chew on before we have to shut off the lights here at GS headquarters, we just happened to stumble on one of the most amazing things we have ever seen. Lego’s were one of the most played with toys of my childhood, between building whatever it was I could think of, I also used them as destructible environment for the G.I. Joe’s and the rest of the action figures of the 80′s.
Nowadays, between children, work, work and children, it’s hard to find time to build amazing forts and castles using the Lego pieces. The PlumBrother’s, however, have decided children and work can wait. I mean, seriously, how can you protect your family and the work place from the Locust and Lambent without a Lancer! If you fly over to their YouTube channel you’ll be graced with a full on breakdown of their latest and greatest toy. The Lego Lancer isn’t only life size, it features a working chain saw to rip your foes apart, but also features some sweet rubber band firing action. After turning off the wimpy safety, you’re left with either single or burst fire action to turn the Locust into chum.
The end of the video features a tear down of the Lancer, unfortunately we aren’t graced with a blindfolded re-build as we all know the COG can do!
Drop on in for the coolest video you’ll see this weekend, and probably the rest of the year!

Way back in 2008 we had a nice little update to our Xbox 360 Dashboard that actually made you feel lik you were playing on a Next Gen console. Here we are 3 years later and it’s about time we feel like the rest of the Windows world. With the Windows Phone 7 out and in some pockets everywhere, and Windows 8 on the verge, Microsoft wants their entire lineup to feel like a tiled social dream. They bring this idea to their highly successful gaming platform in hopes to make your gaming easy and less clumpy. Hopefully most of you have a 360 and know what it is like to try and find content on the thing. Sometimes items are hard to find, and for the n00b out there, locating a video or game content can get difficult.
Microsoft is here to save the day, once again. Later this year (“Fall”) our Xboxes will be getting a much needed update. With a new design, enhanced performance and some pretty nifty social integration, Microsoft hopes we will have a one-stop shop for all of our media needs. Will Microsoft be able to bring television and movies into the mix to actually provide us with 1 solution for everything we might need? Hop on in to find out!

The Japanese game market, specifically the hardware market, has never been Microsoft’s forte. Sure, they’ve tried. But time and time again the hype stateside hasn’t materialized into boast-worthy numbers in the land of the rising sun. Though the Kinect looked like it could finally change Microsoft’s fortunes as motion gaming is huge right now. Apparently it has not…
Bad news today for any Gears of War fanboys (and girls) out there, we have to wait even longer for the refresh in the series… This sucks. It was supposed to launch on April 5th. I had it all planned out — it was my wife’s birthday that day and I was planning on coming home with a beautifully wrapped xbox 360 game with plans of giving it to my wife. I would then make her get that pesky wrap and sticky crap off of it and then pop it into the old box for some late night gaming. Yeah ladies, you heard that right. I’m a man among men. A thoughtful, generous, attractive, athletic, well… A man none the less. Anyway…
The Douche’a'rinos over at Microsoft Studios and Epic Games have shafted us once again with a huge delay on the latest COG tour. Mind you, not by a month or two, but April 2011! We have to wait until “Holiday Season” 2011!!!
ARSEHOLES!!! What the hell am I supposed to give my wife for her birthday now? DAMN you!!!!
Sorry for the rant, but I hate shopping. Now I have to actually put some thought into it instead of mindlessly blowing the hell out of the Locust tards with my magnificent Lancer.
Oh well…
Thoughts??? Or are you all still playing Halo:Reach and could care less
Anyone can stroll into an electronics store or online website and slap down a few benjamins, netting themselves a fresh Xbox 360 off the shelf. But some people strive for individuality. Some just want to stand out. Others simply love a particular game, product, or service so much that they want to advertise that brand. Such is the reason we have special edition consoles like the upcoming Xbox 360 Halo: Reach. It hasn’t been officially announced yet, though word has it we’ll see it break cover later today. For now, all we know is that it’ll be silver with some Halo Reach graphics and carry the same 250GB hard drive as the normal high-end 360. $399 seem a bit much for some fancy stickers? I’m leaning towards yes.
Update
The Halo: Reach Xbox 360 bundle is a go

[So 20x XP SDCC Event is going to run exactly SDCC hours - July 22nd, 12:30 PM EDT till July 25th, 8 PM EDT.]
Gears of War Producer Rod Fergusson released a tweet a couple days ago bribing the Tweetters out there, that Gears of War 2 will have a Double XP weekend to coincide with the San Diego Comic-Con. His bribe: # of followers divided by 500, that will be the number of double xp.

The Kinect has been in the media spotlight for a little over a week now, and yet we’re just today finding out the actual specs. Thanks to UK e-tailer Play.com, the nitty gritty is finally known (and slightly disappointing). The Kinect only musters two resolutions (320×240 and 640×480) at a max of 30fps. At such low resolutionstins, hand gestures and other subtle body movements aren’t likely to be picked up. Furthermore, there’s a two person limit to the Kinect. Though, considering the Kinect’s filed of view is a rather narrow 57 degrees means anything more than two human bodies would have been a tight squeeze for sure.
And one other tidbit that’s sure to leave your morning slightly less cheery now is the issue of lag. At the resolution and capped frame rate, minimum response time is a rather pokey 33ms. If you watched some of the demos on stage at E3, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
All in all, the Kinect is still a great hardware accessory for the Xbox 360 and in my mind, a fair amount ahead of the Wii or PS3′s motion efforts. But it could have been so much better. Maybe Kinect 2, hmm?

Some people have a natural gift in terms of one-off creation and modding. Some people do not. I would fall more into the “do not” category as ripping apart gadgets while helluva fun often ends in paperweight status when all is said and done. One area in particular that interests me is taking gaming consoles and turning them into portable devices. No, I can’t whip up some gorgeous looking and svelte Xbox 360 laptop, but I can certainly buy a suitcase-like contraption from Gaems and be just as enthused.
The Gaems Portable Console Gaming and Entertainment system features a 15-inch 720p LCD, several speakers, polyurethane foam padding, and even a lock. As you can see, it’s pretty small all things considered while offering a new unbound freedom to your gaming needs. The only issue still standing is a nasty pinching issue that puts the clamper on the power cord when closed. Fret not however, the clamp and other remaining minor issues will be cleared by launch.
Speaking of which, look for the Gaems Portable Console Gaming and Entertainment system to drop later this year during the Q4 time frame for roughly $250. Will you be ordering one?

Talk about a deal! Microsoft just got finished taking the wraps (literally) off of the new Xbox 360 Slim. A major upgrade it is not. Then again, the Xbox 360 platform still has plenty of life left in it. There really isn’t anything glaringly wrong with it. Not that a few little updates couldn’t help.
On that note, the new Xbox 360 Slim will benefit from a new standard 250GB hard drive, inclusion of 802.11n WiFi, and a “whisper quiet” design. Chock up that last tidbit to better cooling efficiency and smaller parts which all add up to mean less fan RPM’s and therefore, “whisper quiet” operation. RRoD be dammed.
Oh yeah, the same $299 price tag is a definite plus as well. Way to go Microsoft. At least you’re slam dunking with the 360 side of things. A couple more pics to tidy you over right inside.
Anyone going to upgrade?
