In the modern smartphone world (U.S. more-so), bigger is better. It seems each flagship device tries to one-up the device before it with an ever-so-slightly larger...

For most global phone users, subsidized hardware is pretty uncommon. Of course the positive to paying $300, $400 or $500+ for a phone is that you also get it unlocked...

The dirty side of the Android App Store

Until next year, all Android apps must be free through the Android App Store. I’m all for making money on your work, however sneaking through backdoors is just dumb. Word circulating on the Internet is that Android developers are merely posting links on the android store that links the buyer to the developers own page where the customer is required to pay. If I were in charge of the Android store I would remove the links ASAP. It’s a simple rule. People are…

Bold kinda sorta available

If you’ve got about $700 burning a whole in your pocket and you don’t mind going on a mini odyssey, RIM’s delay ridden Bold is starting to peek it’s head into the light of day. If you’re lucky you can snag one from Best Buy sans contract. I don’t see the point if you plan on getting it with a 2 year plan as you only have to wait another week or so. Oh well. Crackberry lovers will soon have their fix. Source: Boygenius

Palm’s new OS breaking into 2006!

Palm’s new OS breaking into 2006!

It’s no surprise that Palm has been going through a hard time the last couple years.  A dwindling user base, lack of any new exciting phones, and a rather lackluster effort on their part has made the once King of the mobile world, a distant thought in only a few minds.  Boygenius has scored with some screenshots of what the new Palm OS is heading towards design wise.  Looking at them, its definitely a BIG improvement over their current ancient OS that was old and…

AT&T’s Network = Crap

Just as we thought…the REAL reason behind no iPhone tethering plan is that their are so many iPhone users already straining AT&T’s network that they are a bit skeptical and afraid about what could happen to the network if they allow iPhone tethering now. It puzzles me how they rip of customers and still don’t have enough money to upgrade their network. Really, instead of imposing caps on usage and higher rates, fix the issue…THE NETWORK! …

E3…Back from the dead!

E3…once known as the Pinnacle event in the gaming world, full of games, booth babes, and geeky gamers as far as the eye could see. Then last year, faced with rising costs and a few disgruntled attendees the show was scaled way back. Instead of tens of thousands visitors, booth babes galore, and a chance for average Joe to play the up and coming titles of the year, the show was moved to a much smaller venue (only a few thousand visitors), no booth babes, and it was…

Blackberry Bold finally launching on AT&T Nov. 4th!

The genius still known as boy has let loose some information from one of his own informants that the Blackberry Bold has finally made its way through Technical Acceptance at AT&T. Usually after passing TA you get to wait another couple of weeks to see the actual device, and that custom remains…no fast tracking for making up on the plethora of delays that Bold has dragged with it. Finally, Crackberry addicts can get their AT&T Bold…Horrah! source:…

Sprint joins the masses…Prorated ETF’s

Sprint joins the masses…Prorated ETF’s

Sprint has received some pretty bad press over the last couple years.  Their policies were edging toward downright anti-consumer, the phone selection sucked, and the plans weren’t any better.  Well, with the $99 unlimited plan, and some newer smartphones that have cropped up on their network, times are a changing for Sprint.  They have also just made public their decision to prorate their ETF’s.  The longer you are into your contract and cancel, the less…

Is your PSP-3000 screen looking a little unhappy?

Is your PSP-3000 screen looking a little unhappy?

Internet forums have been ablaze the last couple of days with angry psp-300 owners.  At first the screen was something one would sit and simply drool over…now not so much.  It seems some nasty little surprises have popped up. Interlacing, jagged edges, scan lines and some pretty nasty pixelation are rearing their ugly heads in what is quickly becoming a nightmare for Sony.  One would think that Sony would hop to it and issue a fix for their disgruntled customers…

Apple Surpasses 10 million iPhones in 2008!

Today Apple held their quarterly conference that they had in fact sold over  their goal of 10 million iPhones in the  calendar year of 2008.  An interesting fact is  the 6.9 million iPhones sold during Apple’s  fourth fiscal quarter added up to more  iPhones than sales of the original iPhone over its entire lifetime!   During the conference Apple CEO, Steve Jobs said he believed Apple has to remain the best in order to stay ahead of the all of the…

BlackBerry App Store

In an effort to keep up with Apple and Google, RIM is working on pushing out their own app store specifically for Blackberry.  With the mobile market becoming more and more saturated with Mobile internet users, mobile app stores are going to be the next BIG thing!  One difference between Apple and RIM’s app store is that RIM will let developers keep 80% of the revenue differing from Apple’s 75% for developers, and will be using paypal for transactions. …
