Soon after Absinthe 2.0′s release earlier today, the interwebs started to fill with reports of various bugs from the new jailbreak. The biggest issue was simply a failed jailbreak. For some, the jailbreak would appear to properly complete, though various things would not work. Other instances, however, saw Absinthe 2.0 app simply throwing up installation errors. Other issues that we noticed included weird photo upload problems with Tweetbot as well as an audio playback issue that saw the stock Music.app (and any 3rd party app pulling from the local library that Music.app uses) failing to work — streaming audio worked though. That said, a simple restore and re-jailbreak fixed all of our issues.
Thankfully, the various hackers/developers behind Absinthe 2.0 have already issued a new .0.1 update that aims to address random hanging issues during the jailbreak process. If you use the new Absinthe 2.0.1, be sure to let us know how it goes as well as any issues it fixed, what remains and what (if any) new problems it creates.
*Note: The Cydia servers are getting hammered right now. If you are having weird issues with installations, sources, packages, etc., give it a rest for an hour or two and come back later.
