Duck Hunt T-shirt: So close yet so far…

It may showcase a simpler time. A time in which we measure graphics chips by MHz and graphics by bits. But that doesn’t matter. This Duck Hunt t-shirt is bad ass. It was up for vote on Threadless.com for printing. Unfortunately, it appears it didn’t win the vote. Pity. I’d buy it. Hell. I’d by…

GranTurismo 5 takes 90 seconds to load races…

I’ve been waiting for GranTurismo 5 for many, many years. So much so I’m almost bored with the game, even as as pretty as it looks. Nothing a few videos of new demos couldn’t fix, right? Kinda. A video that found its way to Kotaku shows two eager gamers sitting through a solid 90-second delay while the infamous Nurburgring track is loaded. In Polyphony’s defense, Nurburgring is a very long track. With that said, it’s still disappointing…

Nvidia GTX 480 w/ full 512 cores unlocked gets benchmarked!

If you were to say Nvidia’s GTX 480 was the top of the line card from the green camp, you’d only be partially correct. While it is, at face value, the “top of the line”, it is in fact a neutered second place finisher. You see, Nvidia deactivated one block of 32 cuda cores (the processing mini-brains in the fermi architecture) giving the card it’s 480 name — 480 processing cores. For some time, a fully unlocked 512-core version has been…

Real-life Wipeout with R/C car and cardboard course, complete with retro racing console for drivers seat.

Ok, I know I say this a lot, but really, this is the coolest tech mod I’ve seen yet. Some clever German chaps pieced together a bunch of cardboard into one massive Wipeout course. Even better however is the R/C with a camera mounted to it allowing users a drivers seat view. But what’s over the top crazy awesome is the retro gaming console acting as the screen/driver seat. It all comes together in one glorious example of ingenuity. Head over to Sputnic.TV to…

iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G no longer receiving Apple’s Game Center. Yanked from iOS 4.1 beta 3.

Mobile gamers and Apple fans hoping to hold on just a little longer with their older hardware have a new decision to make — Old hardware or Game Center. The latest iOS 4.1 beta 3 has removed the highly publicized mobile gaming feature from iPhone 3G and iPod 2G devices. Given the fairly vocal outpouring of consumer complaints citing poor iOS4 performance on said hardware, it isn’t too hard to understand why the decision was made to ax it completely. Even then,…
