#CES2011 — The Mobile iPhone 4 Headphone Amp and Battery Charger by Go-DAP

If you’re into the high-end portable audio scene, you’ve probably heard of Go-DAP before. They already have one successful battery + amp design on the market for the iPhone 3G/S. This week at CES, the company took the wraps off of their next generation of portable headphone amp and battery for the iPhone 4…

The newly redesigned iPhone 4 specific Go-DAP features a 1,450mAh battery, OPA2338UA (Texas Instruments) pre-amp, TPA6130A (Texas Instruments) power-amp, signal to noise ratio of >= 95dB, z<0.009% (10mW) distortion, and frequency response of 10Hz – 120kHz means this is a serious piece of equipment for audio enthusiasts. The newer, more powerful hardware means you’ll pay ~$299-$399 when the device is launched around April of this year. The price may seem steep, however, those into high-end audio know that sonic perfection doesn’t come cheap. With that said, the Go-DAP is actually quite a bargain.

We got to try it out for a few minutes today and were very impressed. If you have an iPhone 4 and want the ultimate in sound quality whilst abroad, you really need to give the Go-DAP a serious look. Hands-on pictures after the jump…
