Engadget was fortunate enough to have gotten a look at Symwave’s SuperSpeed USB 3.0 setup. What ensued was a lot of super geeky explanations. It turns out that besides being backwards compatible with USB 2.0, USB 3.0 will also work with USB 1.1. Good deal! Since it runs at around 500MB/sec, which is about 10 times faster than 2.0, it is the drives that they are actually connected to that will show up as the bottleneck. It is only a matter of time for hard drives to catch up in speed. Lets hope they get a leg up on it! Check out the gallery on the next page for a few pics of the test set up. *Pictures are property of Engadget*
