Android toting Agora NOT coming to an Aussie near you.
The Agora was a very nice looking Android phone set to be released in Australia and manufactured by Kogan, apparently will be no more. According to Ruslan Kogan, the company founder, the Agora has been “delayed indefinitely”. Kogan has been forced to repay early buyers. The reason for the heartbreak? According to Mr. K, “future interoperability issues”. Apparently the Agora was in a fairly advanced stage of development as the they had already finished production and that they were “within days of shipping the product”. Talk about a bummer. There is some tunnel light to look forward to as Android is set to really boom this year, so I’m sure this won’t be the only Android phone to set foot in Australia.

It seems HTC is looking to make good on Android’s open roots. While certain manufacturers try everything in their power (and epic fail it everytime) to stop the public from tweaking the code as they see fit, HTC is taking a more friendly “let’s be friends” approach. Such a partnership will make happy [...]

Sadly, not every computer you sit down at will be owned or maintained by someone as technologically savvy as you. I’m sure one of your worst nightmares is sitting down at some computer other than your own in need of a quick internet session only to find IE 6 starring back at you as [...]

Apple uses a totalitarian approach with the iPhone. Microsoft offers a mad grab for developers and hardware vendors alike. The two methods at which these two companies provide mobile services are complete opposites. Each have their pro’s and con’s. Apple’s uniformed approach brings tight integration and unparalleled compatibility. Microsoft’s approach [...]

The “Open” movement rushing over the digital market place is hitting the mobile marketplace particularly hard. Android is a perfect example of this. Announced back in November of ‘07, Android took it’s sweet time in ‘08 and early part of ‘09 turning into the OS that many had envisioned. Now as we [...]

So you’re a verizon customer and want an iPhone. Switch. That’s your only hope. Why do I say that? Well, besides the sign above which sends a pretty blunt message, after Verizon get’s down with their whole DROID marketing campaign bashing AT&T and the iPhone, do you really think Apple will [...]

We all knew it was inevitable that AT&T would eventually jump in on the Android game. Though I’m sure many hoped they’d be a bit more timely and original. A few of you may see AT&T as milking the iPhone and it’s publicity for all it’s worth. While others may believe AT&T [...]
