  • LG Neon to please tweenie boppers everywhere
    by Mike
    Posted February 3rd, 2009 at 4:25 pm
So you want a full QWERTY keyboard but don't want or need a full blown "smartphone".  AT&T and LG have got your back with the Neon.  The Neon comes with a full QWERTY and touchscreen insuring that tweenie boppers can get in on the touchscreen goodness too.  The design and color choice are sure to push away older buyers, but that's what the iPhone and Blackberry Bold are for.  Other facts such as price and release date aren't yet known.  Whatev.  Like OMG, what are you still doing r...
  • LG Arena (KM900)
    by Mike
    Posted February 3rd, 2009 at 2:53 pm
LG is notorious for making some pretty sweet phones feature wise and appearance wise.  LG isn't slowing down with the KM900, the latest handset to come from the Korean electronics giant.  This new hotness will come sporting a full touchscreen with a 5 megapixel camera with "DVD quality video recording" with DivX playback.  WiFI, GPS, and a new "innovative S-Class 3D UI" round out the known features so far.  Usually whiz bang terms such as S-Class 3D and other monikers are marketing ploys...
  • “Faster, slimmer, and better” TG01 smartphone coming from Toshiba
    by Mike
    Posted February 3rd, 2009 at 10:24 am
*Image from Gizmodo* Look out iPhone, Toshiba is coming into the touchscreen arena packing the heat with the TG01.  It seems like every phone that comes out with a touchscreen tries to claim the title of "iPhone killer".  What usually ends up happening is the claimed killer falls short in one or more areas.  On top of that, the reason the iPhone continues to dominate this particular segment of the market is the integration with iTunes, iTunes Store, etc.  It's the ecosystem.  Now in th...
  • Sprint premiering “Sprint Premiere”
    by Mike
    Posted February 3rd, 2009 at 9:15 am
Are you a Sprint loyalist?  Have you been with them for 10+ years and given them thousands upon thousands of your cold hard cash?  While I like to poke fun at Sprint, I have to admit they really have been trying lately to turn their image and entire company around.  With a solid lineup of phones including the Palm Centro, Treo Pro, and soon Palm Pre, they have some hardware to lure people back in.  On top of that, their $99 simply everything plan is by far the best deal in the wireless w...
  • A “hard core multi tasker”: 200 apps open at once in Mac OS X!
    by Mike
    Posted February 3rd, 2009 at 9:02 am
This race to see who can have the most apps open at once is completely useless in the sense that it doesn't help anyone.  However, it is really cool.  "Hawkskater0", a reader over at Gizmodo sent in a picture of him doing the impossibly tedious feat.  Running on a 2007 20' iMac 2.4GHz with 4GB RAM he opened 200 apps!  He said that even while waiting for apps to open and with the screen freezing constantly he was still able to carry on a video chat session throughout.  Impressive.  How ...

    by Mike
    Posted February 2nd, 2009 at 5:14 pm
*Image above is not the actual D900F* If you a hardcore gamer who considers cost and weight as trivial specs on your rig of choice, Clevo might be worth taking a gander at.  Clevo's newest creation (not slated for release until May of '09), the D900F will be one of if not the first to use Intel's new i7 chips in laptop form as well as Nvidia's still unannounced but highly anticipated G280 notebook graphics card and combination of raid 0/1/5 hard drives totaling 1.5TB of portable storage! ...
  • 1Gbps downloads coming to Korea by 2012
    by Mike
    Posted February 2nd, 2009 at 4:16 pm
While our current joke of a government crawls along thinking 222Kbps is "broadband", other countries are upping that number daily.  Today's story...Korea.  Over the next 3 years, the Korea Communications Commission will be spending $24 billion on building out a 1Gbps network to allow insanely fast downloads.  How fast?  The  2 hour movie that took you 40-50 minutes today will take you 10-12 seconds in Korea by 2012!  The only bad part about this is that only larger cities will have acc...
  • The old E3 is coming back!
    by Mike
    Posted February 2nd, 2009 at 2:19 pm
E3 used to be the videogame/computer mega show for avid gamers and nerds alike.  However, due to shrinking budgets and ballooning costs among other things, last years show was tamed down so much that it appeared that E3 would go the way of the dinosaurs.  Well gamers, there is good news!  E3 as we used to know it is coming back.  Gone is the invite only crap that kept out scores of people who really deserved and wanted to be there.  With 70+ exhibitors attending the show, the giant that...

So your little Billy is fortunate enough to be the only kid in 4th grade with an iPhone.  With the iPhone literally comes the world in your hands, a potentially dangerous thing for a 4th grader.  There is all kinds of information on the web that little Billy shouldn't see for at least a few more years.  Until now however, you had to pray that he didn't use his beloved iPhone for naughty things.  Parents, you can sit back and relax.  Safe Eyes mobile allows you to protect little Billy an...
