Impending energy shortage? Walk a little and make your own with the “Lightening Pack”.

Just because we love gadgets doesn’t mean we have to be constantly looked down upon as energy hoards. If you’re on the go and don’t have access to a power outlet, powering your mobile geek cave becomes less and less possible. That is unless you’re rockin’ along with the “Lightening Pack”. The once prototype device is officially entering into the real world with the Modern Day Marine event at Quantico being it’s “grand awakening” party if you will. The concept is rather simple actually — the backpack is mounted on rails which moves up and down while the user walks.

The byproduct of all this hustle and bustle of course comes in the form of free energy. Free is good. Gadgets love energy. It’s a win win for us. In case you were wondering, up to 40 watts worth of precious electrons can be had when the wearer takes a stroll with said device. Pretty cool huh? I’ll gladly donate an organ for the cause, though, I might need more than 40 watts…
