Early HTC Dragon build leaked. Dragon to bring 1GHz speed and all around awesomness to Android?

Rumors. How we love them, hope for their transgression into reality, and ultimately finding a heavenly slice of life when they do so. So far, I haven’t seen a single Android handset that makes me want to cough up money to cancel my contract and buy new hardware. Don’t get me wrong, I love Android and can’t wait to make the switch. It’s just that the hardware is lacking. While 528 MHz was fast a couple years ago and still actually is fast, it’s not that fast anymore. With the 1GHz HTC Leo unfortunately going the WinMo route, Android hopefuls who are still waiting for their “savior” are hungry for what could be.

The “could be” will soon “be” as some extremely lucky XDA developers, Reignzone being one, somehow got their hands on an experimental HTC build. You know where this is leading.

Per Reignzone:

So, what I’ve got here is a little build we’re referring to as the “Pet Dragon”. It’s highly experimental at the moment…and from what I have noticed after reviewing the build.prop files from this “system dump” of the device I spoke of earlier today…HTC Dragon. (dubbed “Zoom 2?) —> the screen resolution is 800×480…which as you can tell is quite an impressive resolution. Judging from the release keys, it’s also a capacitive touch screen device. Now, having said all this…it IS NOT the HTC Leo, HTC Desire, or Passion. Because this device is in fact operating on the “2.0? firmware along with the HTC Sense user interface applied for style. So, it’s like an “Eclair Hero”. Lol.

Unzip the packaged files, and enjoy.
But again, bare with me…it’s still very “bare bones” and needs a lot of work…but this device is going to be a GAME CHANGER! Perhaps more so than the HTC Leo!

Now, take a second and look through some of the images below before we go further:

What you should immediately notice is the fact that the firmware version appears as 1.5 meaning it isn’t 2.0. Though the developers swear that it is in fact 2.0. Not to mention, the setup screens clearly show “Setting up your HTC Dragon”. However, I’m sure you’ve all heard of a rather obscure software called “Photoshop”…

The images while conflicting still leave me eager for more. More information about what this beast is packing, where it’s going, and how soon I can get one! I guarantee that whatever carrier releases this will get my dollars. Period. Anyone feel the same? I’ll leave off with a few more screens showing the apps included in this early beta build of a supposed HTC Dragon as well as plenty of room to express yourselves. Who’s feelin’ lucky?
