Fans and keyboards go together like beef noodles and ranch dressing. Hmmm yummy. While gadgets coming out of Japan often have rather unique and sometimes downright weird uses and styles, there’s no denying that they’re at least thought provoking. Mobile computing power users may at times need a portable keyboard to go along with them for the wide. We’ve seen various roll-style keyboards before that are soft, flimsy, and flexible offering up all kinds of options for transporting them. This Keystick Keyboard/Fan however deviates from the standard design of mobile keyboards.

Instead of compacting into mobile form like a roll of carpet, the Keystick folds like an accordion. What’s even more unique (and odd) is the hidden functionality of this keyboard — it doubles as a fan. Here in the states, fans haven’t really caught on. But Japan is a completely different beast.

Whether you’re oriental, looking to get in touch with your roots albeit with a geeky flare or simply looking for another novelty/almost functional gadget due, the Keystick may be worth a look.
