Tuper Tario Tros. is Super Mario reborn. (Hope you’re up for a challenge…)

Tuper Tario Tros? Is there such a thing? Why yes, yes there is. At first it may seem stupid and unoriginal. And I’ll agree, the title fits that bill. But after playing the game for even just a few minutes has created yet another addicting game I must now frequent at least a few times a week.

The concept of the game is your classic Super Mario Brothers game with Tetris thrown in. Now that is original and unique to say the least if not a bit odd. When you start out, you do the whole side scrolling SMB gameplay you’re used to until you come across large block walls. You can’t jump over them so what else do you do? Switch to the alternate gameplay mode which just happens to be called “Tetris Mode”. Obviously, in Tetris those little red Mario blocks now fall from the sky, enabling you to create your own paths to freedom and Princess Peach.

Overall, the combination of good ‘ol retro gaming and the puzzle style of Tetris makes for a unique yet challenging game. If you’re not one accustomed to change or dislike the idea of changing between game modes you may not become quite as addicted as me (read: there’s a lot, a lot of game switching).

It never hurts to try and you won’t really know for sure until you actually do try it now will you? You know the drill…
