[CES] Klipsch Lightspeaker

Want to have the ultimate in subtle and invisible home audio? There’s only one solution: the Klipsch Lightspeaker — by far one of my favorites things at CES so far.

The concept is insanely simple and frankly, I’m surprised it took this long for someone to bring it to market. The Lightspeaker by Klipsch integrates a high quality speaker behind your standard ceiling mounted light. What’s interesting is that the color matched the LED cluster in the light to match the color output of your standard CCFL so you are presented with the same warm glow of the less efficient cousin while still enjoying the energy efficiency of LED.

Specs for the speaker are rated at 90Hz-20khz so they do provide a fairly robust audio range for even more critical listeners. The only thing you need to add yourself is the subwoofer to round out that sound.

In case the size of the speaker on hand doesn’t fit your current setup, don’t fret. The Klipsch rep on hand confirmed that more sizes of both light and speakers were in the works. Just think the house of the not to distant future will have all the speakers and lights integrated, giving back a few more precious square feet for that humble abode of yours.
