**Update: I’ve seen some comments on various forums that this could in fact be some Moto Devour signage instead of the actual retail box. Guess we’ll find out soon enough!
Itching for some updated info on the Motorola Devour/Calgary? In case you missed it, the Devour is the first MOTO BLUR device to come to Big Red in the US. For those who just aren’t too keen with Android’s normal face, BLUR aims to please with a prettified face and multiple ties to various social networking/messaging features built into the homescreen. Super.
Of course, this little gem hasn’t been officially released nor has the packaging or unit itself been seen in retail channels. That was until the VZW employee who snapped the picture above broke the chain of secrecy wide open.
Since the actual device is in some sort of retail space already wrapped in fresh packaging, it’s only a matter of time (read: short time) until we hear of the impending release date.
Any VZW/Android hopefuls holding out for the Devour?

Even when we hear about the release date, how long until it would come out?
A couple more weeks after hearing about the release date, or would it be sudden, as in 3-4 days?

Most likely a couple weeks. I don’t recall too many phone announcements with releases within a week of the official announcement. Please, correct me if I’m wrong.

You do realize that companies actually LIKE when their products are hyped enough to get some pre-release exposure. That’s good for the brand and not something that anyone is going to get sued over. Relax there comrad.

Internet tool he is…

Maybe that is the topic of the Moto add in the 3rd Quarter of the Super Bowl?

Sure would be the ideal audience to grab would it not — tons of men…the exact type of humanoid that loves such digital wonders. Then again, the Devour is packing the Moto BLUR interface which is kind of geared more towards the younger crowd. Guess we’ll see come Sunday.

I’d like to see MOT and other manufacturers sue websites who publish stolen intellectual property such as photos of unreleased products.

Really?! It’s a picture of retail packaging for a phone the entire tech world has known about for months. It’s hardly anything to get all sue happy over — as if the world needed more frivolous and stupid lawsuits. Get off your soap box.

I’m waiting for a slick-looking (and not too heavy) QWERTY phone from VZW and hoping this is it.
