Sony to try their luck again, “re-launch” PSP Go?

Look back in the chemical archives of your memory, all the way to October 2009 when Sony launched a successor to the PSP, the PSP Go. Even before it launched, many panned it for the lack of a UMD drive (after Sony so eagerly campaigned for the format), smaller and less stellar screen, and most importantly, everyone disliked how there wasn’t any simple way to get purchased UMD games onto your UMD-less device without spending more money — a big sticking point.

After a less than exciting few months on sale, the PSP Go may have another “grand opening” in the near future if sources of Gamervision are correct. These sources claim that Sony is planning a “re-launch” party accompanied by a price drop to get everyone all excited about the so fare failed mobile gaming device. Will it work if it turns out to be true? It’s certainly possible. Though Sony is going to have to be a lot less asinine about UMD transfers/backups before I will go anywhere near it.

Feel the same?
