Mozilla “officially” releases pre-alpha Fennec browser for Android.

Test dummies and those who want to be on the bleeding edge of relevancy, take notice. Mozilla has decided tonight is the night to take the wraps off of Fennec for Android — “officially” — by releasing a version for mere mortals to play with. Now take heed as this release is by no means a final version. In fact, if the thought of rooting your phone or having to pull the battery to force a reboot scares you, run away fast. Very fast. But if not, continue on…

A few warnings from one of the developers working on Fennec for Android, Vladimir Vuki?evi?, include copious and random bug occurrences, more-than-likely required battery pulls, optimization at this point is shit, and links won’t natively open in Fennec currently. Ya, that’s a pretty long and obscure list of problems, but it’s essentially pre, pre-alpha so stop complaining. It’s not everyday companies give you extremely early chances to play with their works in progress.

I’ll be sure to follow this one. While the mobile Chrome browser on Android isn’t bad, Fennec (and any other browsers for that matter) is always a welcome addition. Who’s becoming a test dummy tonight?
