Dual-core, Nvidia Tegra 2-Powered LG Android Phone Leaked! #android

LG has been talking quite a bit recently of heating things up concerning their mobile offerings. So far, they’ve catered more towards the mid-range subset of users. But that all changes in early 2011 when the phone above you is released. The only things you need to take away from it right now are this: Dual-core, 8mp camera, and 1080p video recording.

The biggest selling point will of course be that this LG phone (internally nicknamed “Star”) will be the first dual-core (and Nvidia Tegra 2-powered) smartphone on the market.

Finally, the most reassuring news is that Engadget’s tipster says this LG Android device will run a “nearly untouched” version of Android. That’s a good/bad thing. The stock look of Android, I feel, is ultimately better than all of the third party skins we’ve seen tacked on. Although, any changes, no matter how slight, will increase waiting time for new updates. If that’s the case, why not either leave Android completely untouched or completely skin it?

Looks like we’ll have to wait until early 2011…
