[Update] Dell Venue Pro Delayed Until January? #dell #wp7

Share

If you were one of many Windows Phone 7 hopefuls who jumped on board Dell Venue Pro pre-orders a couple of weeks back, you’ve no doubt come to the realization that something isn’t right. For starters, the launch date — December 9th — has passed an no one is holding a shiny, new Dell Venue Pro. Furthermore, a rising number of users over at XDA are claiming their scheduled ship dates are being pushed back until January 6th. On top of that, one Dell (@AmyatDell) rep has been responding to concerned customers with the following:

“Someone from Dell should be calling you regarding this to give you some options.”

“…give you some options” is not something particularly reassuring. Such verbiage hints at longer than expected delays, or even worse, cancellations. However, eager customers finding out their Venue Pro has been delayed have received several different answers from Dell support ranging from “missing parts” to “excessive demand”.

Hopefully Dell releases an official statement to clear things up. We’ll keep you posted…

Update

An update from Dell cites the phones “being re-worked from the factory”. Though there has been some claims that phones will ship out within the next few days with whatever hardware/software issues persist. Though users who receive supposedly defective units can return them. Cluster — yes.
