[Update 2] Is Your Verizon 3G iPad 2 Being Returned To Sender?

  • June 9, 2011 11:51 pm

Is it round 2 for Verizon Wireless iPad problems? A quickly growing list of disgruntled users in Apple’s own support forums surely points to such a scenario. As it currently stands, FedEX says Apple stopped shipment and ordered all Verizon 3G iPad 2s returned to shipper — in China. Apple CSRs meanwhile are telling customers it’s a “miscommunication” between them and FedEX and that the iPad 2s should arrive in 1-2 days. One interesting similarity (besides the fact they’re all VZW iPads and 3G models) is that the affected units all seem to have been engraved. Perhaps the engraver machine went a bit too deep…? Are you having the same problems with your inbound VZW 3G — good god… — engraved iPad 2?

Stay tuned…

Update

It appears now that the engraving of the iPads doesn’t have anything to do with it. Instead, the pointed fingers are now aiming at issues editing account information once activated.

Update 2

Apple has confirmed the cause behind “faulty” iPad 2s — duplicate MEID numbers.
