Redbox Game Rentals Goes Nationwide Starting Today.

  • June 17, 2011 9:45 am

As promised several months back, Redbox is rolling out their trial game rental service nationwide. For $1.99/day, you can pick up the latest games for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 from Redbox kiosks across the country — now totaling over 27,000.

It remains to be seen if the market will accept and maintain multiple game-rental services such as GameFly and now Redbox. GameFly, for comparison’s sake, costs $15.95 and $22.95 per month and allows users to only rent 1 or 2 games respectively.

Any gamers going to start taking Redbox up on their new offer?

Hey Mike – this is great news. I
enjoy using Redbox for a last minute movie rental and it’s a nice addition that
they are now offering games as well. I’m curious, are there any other services
that offer game rentals, like Netflix does with movies, for example.
