VZW Rep: Customers Can Upgrade 4G Phones And Keep Unlimited Data After July 7th.

As terrible as Verizon’s tiered data plans look, unlimited data aficionados have a bit of luck on their side according to claims made by a Verizon Wireless rep via Twitter. When questioned as to whether or not unlimited data customers could keep their unlimited data plans when upgrading to 4G phones after the July 7th cut off date, a VZW rep responded saying:

“Existing Smartphone custs can keep unlimited data pricing when upgrading to another Smartphone.”

While this is one guy that could very well be wrong, it echos similar claims and rumors currently racing around the web at large. Hopefully said rep is right for the sake of tech-loving folk everywhere. A 2 GB cap on an LTE device that is supposed to tap into all of these exciting web-based services and features is border line useless without a miniature Fort Knox in your basement.
