Rumor: RIM Pushing Out Native BBM And Email PlayBook Apps In September.

Two of current/potential PlayBook owners’ biggest requests — native email and BlackBerry Messenger support — is finally coming in September. At least, that’s what the current rumor coming from Bloomberg is reporting. Apparently, the source of this latest rumor is the same one that mentioned the possibility of QNX phones getting the same Android app support the PlayBook features…well, will feature once RIM releases the Android app player.

Since April, the story behind the severe delay in native apps for email, BBM and more has centered around RIM’s BIS/BES setup. Currently it is impossible for an account to be split across two pins (as each BlackBerry device requiring its own pin). Because this is the core backbone of how BlackBerry operates, we can understand the obstacles that have to be overcome. Still, the fact of the matter is RIM rushed out an unfinished product and it shows. Here’s to hoping Bloomberg’s source comes out on top.
