White Back Casing For iPhone 5 (N94) Prototype Leak!

While the current trend of ongoing iPhone 5 rumors point to a more radically designed and more powerful device, the “iPhone 4S” keeps coming back into the picture. After photos alleging to depict the next-gen iPhone 4S’ redesigned antenna leaked late yesterday comes a new leak showing off a prototype iPhone’s white back cover. “N94″ is printed on the case — a number which just so happens to have been associated with the next-gen iPhone in past builds of iOS 4.x and 5.x.

Now, it’s not clear whether this is the iPhone 4S/cloud iPhone or the actual iPhone 5. If it’s the latter it would instantly go against many of the rumors (and cases) we’ve seen trickling out over the last couple of weeks. Of course, if the dual iPhone (iPhone 4S/5) approach is Apple’s new plan moving forward, we’re only seeing half of the puzzle. Not to mention Chinese case manufacturers rushing to get cases out for new phones ahead of time have proven to be wrong before.

If anything, the next-gen iPhone outlook is still massively convoluted and uncertain. There could be one device. There could be two. We just don’t know. The case above may not even be the final iPhone 4S/5 casing. Apple is likely using iPhone 4 hardware to house next-gen internals to keep prying eyes from leaking their secrets early.

We’ll all know soon enough, however, as the rumored early September to early October announcement/launch date is readily approaching.
