Samsung’s Nexus/DROID Prime may be the first device to sport Ice Cream Sandwich, but it is the 720p (1280 x 720) HD display that has our interest most piqued. Thing is, it might not be the first device to boast such impressive screen resolution anymore. Newly leaked renders show an as of now unannounced LG device carrying the title “LU6200″. Said device will reportedly pack a 4.5″ 720p display, 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, Adreno 220 GPU, LTE support, 8-megapixel camera, 1 GB of RAM, NFC, DMB, and spacious 1,830 mAh battery. Even more impressive, however, is that the already record-breaking 4.5″ display will be the first publicly available device to make use of a new AH-IPS technology. Said screen technology will reportedly use half the power of Samsung’s current AMOLED displays while pumping out 600-nits worth of retina searing brightness!

There are currently no reports of when or where the LU6200 will hit North American shores, meaning that at least here in the States, Samsung’s upcoming Nexus/DROID Prime will very likely retain the “first” title for 720p resolution.
