AT&T Loving Samsung Galaxy Nexus Two Steps Through FCC.

  • December 2, 2011 11:14 am

Verizon’s Galaxy Nexus and its super speedy LTE may be a sure bet, AT&T’s variant on the other hand isn’t. That is until we spotted this: FCC certification for an HSPA+ version of the latest Nexus device.

Nerd excitement aside, the GSM 850/1900 and WCDMA II/IV bands that are used by AT&T here in the U.S. don’t necessarily guarantee a U.S. release — other carriers around the globe share the same bands. Nonetheless, AT&T’s recent polling of customers asking if they’d be interested in a Galaxy Nexus outside of Verizon’s grip is something worth considering.

AT&T users: Are you holding fast on Ma Bell hoping a more GSM-loving version is coming your way?
