Sprint Announces HTC EVO 4G LTE

Sprint just announced the name of their new flagship Android device, the HTC EVO 4G LTE.

Everything one would expect from a high-end Android device is here: 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 4.7″ HD (720p) Super LCD 2 display, 2,000 mAh battery, NFC along with Google Wallet support, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with f/2.0 lens and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera as well as LTE. There’s also a microSD card slot for expanding the device’s built-in 16 GB of storage as well as a fancy red kickstand, perfect for all of those movie buffs out there looking to put the full 4.7″ worth of glass to the test. And of course, HTC has brought along the newly designed Sense 4.0 atop Android 4.0 ICS, like it or not. Finally, Beats Audio is packed inside ensuring slightly better than average sound quality.

Look for the EVO 4G LTE to hit the streets in Q2 for $199 (with a 2-year contract).

How does it stack up to the One X? Spec-wise they’re pretty much identical. Though we’ll be perfectly honest. The One X looks a lot better. Still, truly unlimited data is quite the treat. For Sprint users, this looks like the best upgrade in the immediate future. Will you bite?
