U.S. Cellular Announces First LTE Smartphone, The Samsung Galaxy S Aviator.

Chomping at the bit to get up and running on U.S. Cellular’s LTE waves with
a fancy new smartphone? You’re in luck.

Today, U.S. Cellular formerly announced the Samsung Galaxy S Aviator
smartphone packed with a 4.3″ WVGA (480 x 800) Super AMOLED Plus display,
Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread), 8 megapixel rear-facing camera + VGA
front-facing camera and HDMI port.

Considering this is essentially a rebranded Verizon DROID Charge, processor
is likely of the single-core variant humming along at ~1 GHz. RAM is also
probably sitting at 512 MB. (Checking on more official numbers).

Pricing for the Aviator is a tad high in our book considering the
hardware’s age — $199 after a MIR rebate and new 2-year contract.

Any U.S. Cellular takers?
