TAT Co-Founder, Hampus Jakobsson, Leaves RIM. Possible New Start-Up In The Works.

RIM’s grand launch of BlackBerry 10 hardware and software will have to carry on without one of it’s key founders/supporters – TAT (Astonishing Tribe) co-founder, Hampus Jakobsson.

Announced via Twitter on the @TATMobileUI account, Jakobsson revealed that he was in fact leaving RIM. Specific reasons weren’t cited, though follow-up tweets by Jakobsson referenced his previous endeavors with start-ups and yearning to possibly start another new business.

For now, the departure doesn’t appear to be all that detrimental to RIM. As Engadget notes, “most of the hard work is done” (we’d hope). Also, according to Jakobsson there are already people filling in to take over the various tasks he was responsible for. Win-win? We shall see.
