Qualcomm Admits To Powering Upcoming LG Smartphone With Quad Core Snapdragon S4 Processor.

Right now the quad-core scene is pretty much Samsung’s Exynos and Nvidia’s Tegra 3 processors duking it out. Qualcomm, meanwhile, is dominating the dual-core market with their fantastic current-gen S4 processor. It’s fast (it beats Nvidia’s quad-core Tegra 3 in a handful of benchmarks) and also happens to be highly efficient. But soon Qualcomm will focus heavily on quad-core, this according to Qualcomm themselves who leaked some juicy info regarding an upcoming LG device.

The device is unnamed and little (read: nothing) is known other than what Qualcomm claims – they’ll be powering this LG device with a quad-core S4 processor. The rest of the specs for this LG device are certainly worth paying attention to as they include things like 4.7″ 720p IPS True HD display, 2 GB of RAM, LTE (of course) and 13-megapixels of photo-snapping fury. Android 4.x will (sadly) be the launch OS of choice along with LG’s Optimus 3 UI slapped on top. But an upgrade to Jelly Bean (or whatever else is relevant by that time) should be certain.

So now we wait, right? Well, yes. But not too long. Qualcomm also felt compelled to let us all know this beastly LG device will be debuting in South Korea sometime in September, with other global territories to follow not too long afterwards. Excited?
