Jorno: The World’s Smallest Folding Mobile Bluetooth Keyboard On Kickstarter

The market is flooded with bluetooth keyboards for all types of mobile devices. It seems we have taken the road directed in more of a mobile way of living to directing it back towards the art of laptop computing. However you view using a keyboard with a smartphone or a tablet, they will keep being produced, and some will stand out above the rest time and time again.

Jorno creator, Scott Starrett, has set out to create the World’s smallest bluetooth keyboard. This unique folding keyboard will fold in a sleek compact box that will fit directly into your pocket. While open, it sits at a nice sized keyboard, still compact, but not yet full sized, optimized for a comfortable and ergonomic experience. The Jorno delivers the ultimate level of mobility. Personally, my ZAGG keyboard sits in a slot in my Powerbag, decently portable, but this little guy features a unique 5-way fold giving you an easy on-the-go way to comfortably type longer emails or even blogs while sitting at your favorite hipster coffee shop.

Utilizing the bluetooth airways, the Jorno will connect to your iPhone, iPad or any of your lovely Android devices. It comes with a detachable cradle that will hold your phone/tablet (phablet?) in either a portrait orientation or a landscape for those of you that read sideways. It also has a storable kickstand and a rubberized surface to hold your device securely.

When the Jorno is folded, you have a 3.5 x 3.5 x 1.2 tiny little box, unfolded gets you 8.5 x 3.5 x 0.3 qwerty keyboard. As you can see, this little guy is very thin when unfolded and yields to a nice external harddrive sized portable keyboard. It features a rechargeable lithium ion battery that offers up to 1 month of wireless use. It will ship with a Micro USB charging cable, On/Off LED light as well as a low battery LED.

The Jorno is scheduled to ship in April of 2013 as long as their Kickstarter reaches it’s goal of $100,000. They currently stand at $17,484 at the time of this post with 28 days left. A pledge of $79 will yield you the Early Beard Special of 1 black Jorno keyboard and your name on their website as an original backer. You can even drop an extra $20 ($99) to get yourself a sexy special white edition.

Pocketable, five-way folding keyboard unleashed on Kickstarter, to deliver an unparalleled Bluetooth typing solution for mobile devices
Los Angeles, CA – September 19, 2012 – The Jorno team, innovative developers of input productivity solutions for touchscreen handheld devices, is thrilled to unleash its creation, the Jorno keyboard.

Jorno serves as an on-the-go solution for typing on a variety of mobile devices. This pocketable keyboard is the size of your palm when folded, measuring in at 7.6mm for a clean and modern design. It folds down five ways, unlike any other competitor on the market, and easily fits into your pocket or purse.

By transforming your iPhone®, iPad®, or AndroidTM device into a fully functioning laptop, users can enjoy the freedom of easily writing emails, taking notes in class, or working on other assignments from virtually any location. Jorno also comes equipped with a detachable cradle to securely hold your device in landscape or portrait mode for the most practical and productive user experience. The cradle is designed to support phones as well as mini- and full-size tablets. Jorno pairs via Bluetooth to deliver convenient connectivity capabilities, and also guarantees compatibility with a wide array of devices.

The Jorno keyboard also has an intelligently rigid design, so it won’t collapse as users are typing on their lap. The built-in rechargeable battery lasts an entire month to deliver maximum usage time without concern for losing power.
“We are incredibly excited to introduce a mobile keyboard to the market, which offers such a unique and essential design that has yet to be created,” said Scott Starrett, CEO and Founder, Jorno. “We are passionate about this innovation and are certain it is the next big thing in the mobile productivity arena.”

Jorno has garnered a number of prestigious industry awards, including an Engineering Design and Innovation Award from the Consumer Electronics Show.

The revolutionary Jorno is now live on Kickstarter. Additional information can be found at keyboard.
