HTC Says One X/S Updates To Begin Rolling Out This Month

After weeks upon weeks of guessing (and plenty of waiting), HTC has finally come clean as to when their mid-range One S and (formerly) flagship One X will begin receiving Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates - this month.

Previously, HTC had simply stuck by “by end of this year” with rumors more recently pin pointing October as the month everything would begin to go down. Today’s confirmation from HTC is a step in the right direction. Once they open the floodgates and begin pushing out HTC-ified builds of Jelly Bean to carriers, we will then impatiently wait for said entities to announce/push out Jelly Bean the final leg of the journey to end users’ devices.

Just in case you forgot, Jelly Bean is set to bring several notable improvements in battery life (particularly the One X) as well as a new Google Now and Jelly Bean’s “Project Butter” speed improvements. Other perks include a new gallery mode that pulls in video content and a new self-portrait mode for devices’ front-facing cameras amongst others.

Keep chomping at those bits.
