Apple is once again singing the praises of their market shifting iPad as over this past weekend the device(s) managed to sell over 3 million units in just 3 days. It’s worth pointing out that the aforementioned figure is for both full-size 4th-gen iPads as well as iPad minis - Apple did not break down numbers between the two.
Initially after launch, tech pundits were worried that the iPad 2′s aging A5 processor and non-Retina display would soften demand and leave a lot of people looking at competing options from various Android manufacturers as well as Microsoft’s new Surface RT tablet. As this past week has shown, however, it appears that even a nearly two year old processor and lower resolution display can still captivate the masses when the bigger picture (ecosystem) is factored in.
