About Me

I am a sophmore in college persuing a degree in Computer Hardware Engineering, Computer Graphics Technology informatics…(basically the same as computer science).  As you can quickly see, I like to collect majors, or attempts that is.  Haha.  Actually, I recently changed my degree…again…to General Studies.  Why?  Well I have quickly come to the conclusion that I want Gadgetsteria to be my job, my sole source of income.  Also, I realized that I hate computer programming, a major part of computer science.  With the General Studies, I can take all of the other technology/computer related courses *sans computer programming* to fulfill the digital love I have, as well as branch into journalism and any other area that I want to dapple in.  It will make college a lot more interesting and brings a new wave of motivation with it as I now actually look forward to go to class.  It makes a big difference if you like what your learning, really!  Not only that, but realized I wanted to be my own boss.  I don’t want to be confined in some stupid cubicle for 40+ hours per week.  I want my office to be wherever I have an internet connection.  That is my true goal.

As the name of my website implies, I love gadgets.  It doesn’t matter what they are, what they’re used for, who they’re made by, or where they come from - Gadgets are cool!  Everything about electronics, whether it be mobile technology, desktop computers, or the newest electronic pen…I’m hooked!  I try to post as much as I can, but in between work and school can sometimes go 12+ hours without updating.  Gadgetsteria is something that I started up because it is a passion of mine.  The Hysteria that comes over me as well as other gadget loving individuals is something that can’t really be explained.  It is just an overpowering excitement that overtakes you.  Some may laugh at you, others may call you hopeless or pathetic, but just remember that you have a passion for something.  That alone is more than many people can say.  So enjoy your digital euphoria!

Besides the deep love for gadgets, I also like to write about current events and political issues surrounding gadgets, electronics, and technology in the world today.  If you have already read through some of my longer articles, you may have noticed I can get a bit vocal and opinionated.  Even though I voice my own feelings and make them clearly known, I always try to present both sides as to never become too one sided as to let you formulate your own thoughts and decisions.  However, like all humans, I am not perfect and sometimes I let my personal beliefs get the best of me and overtake an article.  If that happens, let me know.  Tell me to shut up, that I don’t know what I’m talking about!  A little harsh rebuke never hurt anyone.  If anything it keeps me in check and prevents me from turning into a one sided bias blogger who no one appreciates or likes.  So the next time you feel differently than I do about a particular topic, or you think I’m just plain wrong, please, do us all a favor and let me know.

One other little hint you may have gleaned from my writing is that I kind of like to mix in humor and cynicism.  I whole heartedly believe that it keeps things fresh and interesting.  If you want to read a simple spec sheet, theres nothing wrong with that at all.  (Sometimes that’s all I want).  But I also understand how more dialog can make the connection between writer and reader more personal and more interesting.  It’s this interest that keeps people coming back.  Again, if I start becoming to cynical in a particular post, or my jokes just plain suck, please point it out and spare me the future embarrassment as well as future readers the extreme misfortune of having to crawl through my at times pathetic attempts at humor.

Here at Gadgetsteria, I like to have a good time.  I hope you find my articles interesting and thought provoking.  I encourage you to sit back and take a digital stroll through the catacombs of Gadgetsteria and soak in all that I have to offer.  Enjoy your stay!
