    by Mike

Mobile users can watch the video here It doesn't seem like that long ago that custom "bottom dock" BlackBerry themes were the "it" thing with theme developers anxious over a UI layout that seemed rather simple. After watching the clip above, you can truly see how quickly BlackBerry themes have progressed in the relatively short time span of 1-2 years. The particular them showcased above was created by "Z Man Designs" and is titled "Transitions". If you like the idea of organized and neatly...

The coolest BlackBerry theme (as far as OS copies go) is here. The Sense UI theme by Elecite is awesome. While Storm user will get the truest representation of the Android OS, horizontal display Berries are also supported. Per Elecite: The massive homescreen allows for 5-6 customizable icons, profiles/manage connections buttons, a Today page with hidden today items for phone log, messages and calendar icons, a Media page with quick access buttons to music, media and pictures, and finally...

While themes chock full of eye candy are no doubt fun to look at and admire, some people just want a simple, high contrast, easy to navigate interface. HedoneDesign has just the solution: Simple Black&White.; The look is very straight forward with simple icons and meters so you don't have to second guess or strain to read what your Berry is trying to tell you. While I'm not usually a fan of such bare bones themes, this one is actually pretty stylish. The simple life returns for $6.99. Scre...

Those in the market for a fresh premium BlackBerry theme have another option today with LineUp. The theme which is available in either a bottom dock or plus style will cater to most users' needs. LineUp is available for 8900, 9000, and 9630 devices for $6.99 from If I had a Berry I'd definitely give this theme a tr...
  • Digital Pro [BlackBerry Theme]
    by Mike
    Posted September 10th, 2009 at 8:52 am
Hedone Design seems to be keeping a break neck pace on the theme front as they are churning out incredibly rich themes fairly often. Hey, I'm not complaining, I like change. The coolest part about their latest theme, "Digital Pro", is that it takes a more reserved approach as to not embarrass at the office. Even if you don't work in a stuffy, cold cubicle in some dark corner, this theme is sharp. Interested parties have two options with Digital Pro: V1 or V2. V1 features 6 user-customizab...
  • BlackBerry Theme: Dark Room
    by Mike
    Posted September 2nd, 2009 at 1:31 pm
When I made BlackBerry themes just a couple years ago, I always loved making my own battery and signal meters. To me, a custom theme wasn't that that unique or cool unless cusotm icons were used. Moving forward, BlackBerry themes have moved forward exponentially in complexity and style with the latest themes completely blowing away anything I made. Likewise, the meters that are being created from various theme designers are truly innovative and unique. One such new theme that branches off ...

    by Mike
    Posted August 27th, 2009 at 1:25 pm
If you've been in the BlackBerry scene for at least a few months and are in to the whole customization of your precious little Crack gadget, chances are you've changed the wallpaper and/or theme at least a couple times. Some can go weeks with the one theme. Others change themes like they *hopefully* change underwear. Whichever type of person you are, Hedone Design has just released another amazingly polished and professional looking BlackBerry theme dubbed "Digital". Featuring a sort o...
  • HTC Hero BlackBerry Theme full of glorious, slick, free eye candy
    by Mike
    Posted August 25th, 2009 at 2:08 pm
Dime-a-dozen BlackBerry themes are all too common these days. While I don't want to come across as too blunt or cynical, truly unique and professional looking themes take time and skill. Some people are simply better and design than others. EThemes, a BlackBerry theme website and store has put together some truly amazing BlackBerry themes. However, their latest HTC Hero Theme for the Bold, 8900, and 9630 is the best yet. The only drawback I could find is that the icons aren't fully user...
  • BlackBerry Theme: Opus
    by Mike
    Posted August 4th, 2009 at 9:45 am
If bright and flash themes aren't quite your forte, the Opus BlackBerry theme newly released by Elecite, one of the best BlackBerry theme sites around, you're in for quite a treat. Featuring 8 icons on the home screen (top 4 fixed, bottom 4 user customizable) as well as a today area, this theme is rather robust. On newer models, ie: 83xx and 88xx models excluded, there are 2-3 dots that you can select that will take you to another screen of new icons -- much the same the iPhone or Android OS...
