Apple Vs. China Mobile…Round 3
Monday, February 9, 2009 13:01The what seems like eternity long ongoing negotiations between Apple and China mobile have been going on for quite some time now with no end in sight. The first round ended after China Mobile refused to allow the revenue sharing plan that Apple used with the 1G iPhone. The second round ended just as well as the first when Apple tried the subsidiary selling the iPhone 3G for $200. China Mobile again refused to eat the cost of the iPhone which is around $500-$600 and then turn around and sell it for $200-$300. The endlessness continues as China Mobile is reportedly not thrilled with Apple’s App Store. They don’t like Apple selling things directly to Chinese customers and instead would like to completely manage the App selling process themselves because they feel they can stave off the competition better. I see this as the common communist b.s. politics getting in the way once again. If I were Apple I would try to not think with my wallet for just this once and say fine, don’t like it, *expletive* off then. It doesn’t take a genius to see the global success the iPhone is having. If China Moble doesn’t want to play ball then fine, lose money and stay home. This is strike 3 for them. They’re out. They obviously don’t care about making money so let them be. Oh well. I know I’m ranting, but it’s my site so I have the right. Enough of my opinion, what do you think? Do you think China Mobile has something going here? Do you think Apple should pack up and leave? Let us know below.
