  • Multi-touch goodness on your G1
    by Mike
    Posted February 7th, 2009 at 6:47 pm
The iPhone currently holds the top spot in multi-touch land for mobile phones.  It just works, and works well.  However G1 owners can now get on in the fun.  Sadly it isn't included in the latest 1.1 T-Mobile update, but with a little hacking two fingering it can be yours!  Be advised it isn't exactly "quick and easy" as it involves several things.  What things you ask.  Head over to Gizmodo for the full and completely exhausting ordeal.  Happy Hacking!...

  • 240GB iPod Video hard drive upgrade!
    by Mike
    Posted February 4th, 2009 at 11:22 am
Do you consider yourself an audiophile?  If so, you know the trade offs you have to make in order to carry around your music in perfect lossless format.  The biggest tradeoff being the much smaller amount of music you can carry around because of the large file size.  To audiophiles it is trivial as quality trumps quantity any day.  However, now you can have both.  Rapid Repair is now selling a Toshiba 1.8" 240GB dual platter hard drive for iPod Video models only.  Said drive twirls at ...

While Android and Mobile OS X look amazing straight from the factory, it's always nice to be able to customize your gadgets.  Themes (skins) make your gadget a little more personal and allows your to stand out from the crowd.  Themes are the often overlooked part of mobile devices that can really add to the usability and appeal.  Todays platform of interest is Android.  While everyone else's G1 looks the same, you can walk around and show off "Ghost Black".  It is a wicked cool theme cr...

Are you one of the many people disappointed with Apple's choice glossy only?  Or, are you in disgust that they are forcing matte screen lovers to shell out for the top end MacBook Pro AND pay an extra $50 just to be able to see the screen in a brightly lit room?  If you answered yes to either of the above, Tech Restore has a solution for you.  They have put together a matte screen replacement package that will rid you of the awful glare the glossy screen throws at your eyes.  The serv...

    by Mike
    Posted January 6th, 2009 at 9:18 pm
A forum member that goes by "Bear Hunter" has created quite possibly the coolest, most amazing iPhone theme I have seen yet.  It's called OS X Leopard Add-On Theme.  Back the the theme in a moment.  I haven't had my iPhone jailbroken in a little over a month now, so I haven't been staying on top of the whole jailbreaking scene.  I decided to stop by ModMyI, a great site dedicated to Apple stuff, more particularly iPhones, both normal and jailbroken.  I forgot how much I loved this sit...
  • iPhone 3g finally unlocked!
    by Mike
    Posted December 16th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
News from Engadget on behalf of the Dev-Team say they have finally unlocked the iPhone 3g! The unlock has a projected release date by December 31st. You'll need baseband 2.11.07 if you have any hopes of unlocking as newer basebands don't work. While this is surely good news, the 3g won't work on any other US carriers such as T-Mobile because the iPhone does not support T-Mobile's 1700Mhz AWS 3g band so unlocking the 3g won't get you 3g speed at cheaper prices unfortunately. Regardless it i...

    by Mike
    Posted October 2nd, 2008 at 7:39 pm
I've jailbroken my iPhone once. Since the app store has been opened most of the apps available for jailbroken phones are rather boring as many developers have given into Apple's SDK. However one app stands out as simply genius! iPhone-backgrounder let's ANY app run in the background....cydia/installer and app store downloads! Now you can listen to pandora and get IM's in the background all while checking email! How awesome is that! It's available now in cydia...go get it! Source: Gizmodo...
