  • Yup, you guessed it. iTunes 9.0.2 kills Pre sync.

Ben and Jerry was one of my favorite cartoons growing up. For me, it was the whole stereotypical cat vs. mouse thing that always had me hooked. Now that I'm a big boy, (some may dispute that) I still watch cat and mouse drama every day. Except now it isn't a cartoon. It's a bit more "real". Ladies and gents, I introduce to you Apple (cat) and Palm (mouse). The round 'n round battle that these two tech giants this one tech giant, and second, not so giant tech giant (figure it out, it isn...
  • iPhone/iPod Touch iTunes syncing unofficially officially coming to Linux

Before we really get your hopes up, we need to stress that this process isn't exactly "download - click to install - enjoy". But if you're running any distro of Linux, I'm assuming your at least a fairly versed in getting down and dirty behind the scenes of the pretty UI into the heart of your machine. And that's a good thing because that is exactly what it's going to take to get this unholy union to kiss and make up. The image above is a nice graphical representation of what the installed so...
  • CyanogenMOD back with 4.2.1 stable release
    by Mike
    Posted October 27th, 2009 at 10:38 am
Looking back but a mere month ago, hearing the word "CyanogenMOD" meant sadness and sorrow as it was at that time Google sent Mr "Mod a cease-and-desist order because of his Android tinkering. Thankfully a common ground was reached and Cyanogen could continue on pleasing many Android tinkers across the world. To mark the anniversary, a new stable release of CyanogenMOD, ver. 4.2.1 has been released. Different from other versions however, this one will lack all of the Google branded/Google Exp...
  • Aw snap: EyeTV pulls a fast one on ‘ol Apple. 3G Streaming a go.

If you want to give the finger to AT&T; and Apple, what better way than to transcend across one of the most hallowed bans -- 3G video streaming. EyeTV developed by elgato is your vehicle to do just that. Forget the fact that it's an amazing piece of software that lets you record, rewind, edit, and watch video content 'till your heart's content. The real deal is the latest development on the iPhone front. It's sneaky, I feel bad hyping it up as it will only draw attention which will probably l...
  • Viva la jailbreak!

I'm sure by now you've seen at least half a dozen tech sites retracting their doubts (if they had any) about so called newer, "un-jailbreakable" iPhone 3GS's. The fact of the matter is that it isn't true. The bootrom as we mentioned earlier was indeed updated. But come on. Did you really think the jailbreaking community was going to sit idly by while Apple walks all over their miniature world in their pocket? Even though I was a bit worried too, I'm glad my gut instincts came true and that ...
  • Apple now shipping un-jailbreakable iPhone 3GS’s?
    by Mike
    Posted October 13th, 2009 at 7:57 pm
Sadness I know. If you weren't one of the early bird 3GS adopters instead taking your sweet time to mosey on over and are looking forward to all of the jailbreaking goodness, I'm here to dash your dreams and stomp on everything happy in your mind. It's beginning to come to light that Apple is shipping iPhone 3GSs with a new bootrom, iBoot-359.3.2 to be exact. Further adding fuel to the speculation fire is that "MuscleNerd", a member of the infamous Dev-Team has confirmed himself that these ne...
  • Dev-Team steps forward to save the day again…for OS X users.

Those of you holding off for an official Dev-Team jailbreak solution to the recently released 3.1.2 firmware pushed out by Apple have something exciting to come home to. PwnageTool 3.1.4 for Mac OS X has officially been released bringing with it freedom for most. I say most because 3G iPod Touches aren't supported. It's also important to note that in order to keep your phone unlocked, you'll need to upgrade to 3.1.2 via custom built ISPW's via PwnageTool as fresh 3.1.2 devices have an updated...
  • blackra1n brings 3.1.2 to it’s knees…

**Update: An update has been released for Blackra1n allowing to now support Windows and Mac OS X. Thank god the iPhone/iPod Touch community has an active following. I don't know what I would do without the jailbreaking community and their ever impressive displays of swiftness when it comes to cracking Apple's latest attempts to thwart their devices true potential. blackra1n, the follow up to purplera1n, is an ALL device jailbreaking method that takes all of 30 seconds! Time is money...or...
  • MOTOBLUR ported to G1 [Video]

    Posted October 9th, 2009 at 9:07 am
Well sweet Jebus. Android how I love thee. If HTC's Sense UI has lost the luster of your eye or simply isn't your cup 'o tea, perhaps you'd care to try your luck with Motorola's new Android skin, "MOTOBLUR", on your trusty G1? I sure would! That is...if I had a G1. Moving on, the dirty deeds are detailed in the vid above in case you're feeling gutsy. After the whole Google/Cyanogen drama, I'm sure Google, and more importantly Moto won't be too thrilled with this harmless port. Hey, ...
  • Even iPhone accessory manufacturers love jailbreaking. Not even trying to hide it.

So this 3000 mAh external battery charger for the iPhone has been making its way across site after site this morning and early afternoon. While the specs that it brings are worth mentioning: 500 hours standby, 8.5 hours talk/cellular based internet, 40 hours audio, 11 hours video, and 10 hours WiFI browsing, the real crowing jewel is in the press shot. See that in the lower right corner? It's a Cydia icon. So what's the significance of this? Absolutely nothing. Just something I found a t...
  • Hotmail not the only one with leaked accounts/passwords — Gmail, Yahoo, and others along for the ride

You may recall a particular article we posted yesterday that delt with a potentially disturbing problem affecting Hotmail/MSN/WindowsLive email users. For a quick recap, someone posted the account and password information for over 10,000 Hotmail/MSN/Live email on a forum post in Pastebin.com, a site used for developers to share code snippets. That problem just became everyone's problem as BBC is now citing that it wasn't/isn't just Microsoft based email services that were hit. Instead, it...

Can we get a whoop whoop! If you like to actually use your iPhone or simply can't get enough of those themes yet feel left out with your 3GS running 3.1 as so far a fix hasn't been available. That's all about to change as the Dev-Team has announced that they have successfully upgraded a jailbroken iPhone 3GS from 3.0 to 3.1 without losing the jailbreak. Look for an update for the rest of us in the not too distant future. Oh how our pulses quicken... **Update: man they're quick... New pwnag...
