Mobile Crunch was lucky enough to get a pre-release version of a big update to Beejive IM for iPhone.  This 2.0 version brings many enhancements including all types of file transfers whether it's images, sounds, or documents.  Beejive has you covered.  Images show up in the bubbles themselves.  Clicking on the picture opens a full screen version.  Another nice touch is the document transfer support.  Word, Excel, and many other office documents can be sent and received all within Beeji...

Google is known as one of the "hipper" companies, or one that tries to push a cool image.  For instance, look at their search page logo.  It is always changing.  They like to tinker with the small details to give an overall better package.  That philosophy is carrying over to their iPhone search app.  Venture beat discovered, *with the help of Google writing about it in their mobile blog* a secret settings tab in the Google search app.  How do you get there?  It is easy. (more...)...

Martin Drashkov, an Android developer received an email from the Android Market recently disclosing some very exciting if not already expected information.  The Android App Store will soon be open to paid apps.  What does this mean?  Not only will your wallets become lighter, but with the motivation of income the apps, as well as the quality of the apps should increase.  The developers will receive 70% of the earnings from app sales while the other 30% will go to "carriers and billing se...

I'm not going to lie, I am a HUGE Sim City fan, forget the fan that I'm terrible at actually sustaining a city and my townsfolk always end up hating me and moving away.  Back on topic, this game is awesome.  I've only had it for 30 minutes but am loving it already.  If you are a huge Sim City fan do not pass this up!  Head over to the App Store and pick up your copy of sweet goodness for $9.99!...
  • The dirty side of the Android App Store

Until next year, all Android apps must be free through the Android App Store. I'm all for making money on your work, however sneaking through backdoors is just dumb. Word circulating on the Internet is that Android developers are merely posting links on the android store that links the buyer to the developers own page where the customer is required to pay. If I were in charge of the Android store I would remove the links ASAP. It's a simple rule. People are greedy, deceiving animals. +1 for...

[caption id="attachment_140" align="aligncenter" width="200" caption="MailWrangler"][/caption] Communism is making its way through America...starting with Apple.  Another highly useful app has been banned from the App Store. MailWrangler, a tool to greatly increase Gmail functionality on the iPhone by letting you log into multiple Gmail accounts, see threaded views and all of your Google contacts, archive (quickly), star, etc without the normal issues associated with apples own Gmail IMAP f...
