  • Moto XT701/(Sholes Tablet?) shows up for but a second on Moto’s website.

Normally I wouldn't be all that interested in some "leak" of a Chinese bound handset. I don't live in China so why would I want to buy a device designed for China? Easy enough, right? Every now and then however, a foreign device slips by and reveals itself and does catch my attention. One such device is the Motorola XT701. Several weeks ago, the internet was full of Sholes Tablet images depicting a keyboardless version of the Moto Sholes (think Droid). While I like the added physical key...
  • iChat mobile, the iSlate/iTablet/iPad, and domesticated unicorns getting closer to reality…

Not a week goes by that I don't see some form of Mobile iChat/iTablet rumor. Such has been the case for well over a year now. Many hoped that the iPhone 3GS would pack some form of the heavily sought after application as well as a front facing video camera for video calls. Truth of the matter is, while video calls are more popular in other parts of the world, here in the states the feature has failed to gain any real traction or even following. Perhaps one potential iPhone 4.0/iTablet fe...
  • “iTablet” to feature iPhone OS or full blown OS X? Portability and apps or power and expandability?
    by Mike

I stumbled on a thought provoking article on MacDailyNews that really got my mental juices flowing... iPhone OS Looking at the title above and taking into account the various bits of information surrounding a so called Apple tablet that has been beaten and flogged across the digital waves the last year would lead most to believe that any actual device would feature an iPhone-esque OS. I mean, why not? If you want to keep things simple and battery friendly while also tapping into the app st...
  • 7″ Apple tablet coming in January “For Sure”…

The world may be ripe with 10" Apple tablet rumors, but as they old saying goes: "What is popular isn't always right". Ok, so it's not the best fit for the saying but it's all I've got -- hey, the holiday break has already manifested itself many times over inside my head...I went on vacation days ago. With that said, an "extremely accurate and reliable" source of BGR's has come forth saying there is a 100% chance of a 7" Apple tablet. The often bragged about 10 incher however is claimed t...
  • LG and Sprint to showcase new device at CES. Lotus 2 or Prada III to drop? [Update]
    by Mike
    Posted December 22nd, 2009 at 5:53 am
What was your original impression of the LG Lotus? For those who don't remember, it was a goofy shaped "tweener" phone with a more square shaped design. Not exactly stylish in my opinion. Though many in the mobile world are no doubt in love. For you love birds I have some *almost* good news. LG and Sprint are taking the stage together at CES this year for a grand launch party centering around some new mobile device. Generally when I see the words "LG" and "Fashion" I think of the Prada li...
  • Verizon Palm Pixie passes FCC? 2010 launch all but confirmed?
    by Mike
    Posted December 13th, 2009 at 9:52 pm
Palm has had a rather tough time so far getting webOS off the ground. The Pre has more or less done pretty good though it's short of what I'd call a blow out success. Still, Palm still has some fight (or is it just reflexes on a dead carcass now...?) left in them. The Palm Pixie isn't as high end as the Pre, but it's purpose in life isn't to steal the hearts and minds of the high end market. The Pixie is meant to bring up the bottom end -- to usher in droves of new users who may not have had...
  • Acer A1 comes state side. Passes FCC with AT&T 3G bands in tow…

AT&T; has remained mum on any mentioning of Android or when the carrier might even begin to sell devices with Android. Chalk it up to their love fest with Apple. AT&T; users deserve an Android option. Now that all three other big carriers have at least one Android device with many more in the pipeline means AT&T; can't afford to sit this one out much longer. With that said, we can always look towards the FCC directories and documents for early information of handset releases. The Acer A1 h...
  • Xperia X10 AT&T and T-Mobile bound?
    by Mike
    Posted December 6th, 2009 at 12:20 pm
Boy how I love a freshly leaked spec sheet for lusted after gadgets. Today's gadget-o-love spec sheet pays homage to the Sony Xperia X10. While the hardware itself and overall skin of the UI are simply gorgeous, the Android 1.6 underpinnings aren't exactly the first choice for most. Android 2.0 or even 2.1 would be much more deserving for such a gorgeous device. But I digress. Personal inhibitions aside, a spec sheet showing off everything that resides under the X10's hood sheds light on so...
  • LG and T-Mobile to bring the Android heat in 2010 and beyond?
    by Mike
    Posted December 1st, 2009 at 12:35 pm
Don't you love a classic rumor fresh from the mill? I know I do. I generally don't like to get people too excited if there is little case for such emotion, but I'm sure T-Mobile customers and Android lovers won't mind. LG hasn't really had much of an impact here in the states as they have in other countries, say their home turf back in Seoul. Even then, just because you're the favored incumbent doesn't mean it's a set and done deal. Telling signs of a cooling period for LG hardware can bee...
  • Google Phone’s on again/off again relationship with our souls…

For every site you find on the internet telling of a so called "Google Phone" -- the ultimate Android phone according to Google's own tastes -- one can find just as many if not more sites debunking such rumors with the most popular reasoning being that Google would hurt 3rd party partners. Because of this, we'll never see a Google Phone straight from Google. They don't make hardware. Or do they? Gizmodo received a hot tip that points even harder to Google releasing a slab of hardware on thei...
  • Google phone is coming?
    by Mike
    Posted November 18th, 2009 at 5:38 am
For now we'll hop aboard the rumor train as it looks might nice. The stop is a date to which we'll see Google emerge from the Android crowd and release their own hardware. The logistics of such a move have been battled back and forth for several months as similar rumors come and go with many people either for or against such a move. Given the very nature of the open environment, it's hard to see Google not trying their own hand at it...again. The G1 while not a "Google Phone" in the purest s...
  • 4th gen iPhone “midboard” for sale?
    by Mike
    Posted November 3rd, 2009 at 7:09 am
First it was a SIM tray reported to be for the 4th gen iPhone. Today a new "iPhone 4th gen" part has surfaced on a Chinese retailer. This part in particular is the "midboard" of the phone. According to the manufacturer, the part will be shipped within 5-12 days. Further piquing our interest are claims that the 4th gen iPhone's back cover will be added to the site "soon". Is it possible such parts for Apple's uber secretive next gen phone are already leaking? Over 8+ months in advance is st...
