  • AllMyApps makes reinstalling your favorite apps a breeze

Re-installing your computer from scratch isn't hard if you go ahead and follow the normal precautions -- the most important one being backing up your data. Even then, reinstalling all of those 3rd party programs you've amassed over the months and years is a pain to put it lightly. Wouldn't it be awesome if there were a way to go and pick all of these apps from a list and organize them into one neat, small, and tidy installer package? The developers behind Allmyapps have done just that. S...
  • Shell [BlackBerry Theme]
    by Mike
    Posted October 31st, 2009 at 9:34 pm
After seeing some Rachel vids, I'm feeling a little artsy. So how about something for the BlackBerry folk? This latest theme to come out of Elecite has a rather unique color switching feature built directly into the theme. At the click of a button, you can switch between Black, White, Red, or Blue color schemes giving Shell a cool trick that other themes can't claim as their own -- for now. Those who can't make up their mind as to what icons should inhabit their main screen can be at ease. ...

You may have noticed my absence the last week. No worries. Gadgetsteria is still alive and well. I simply got married, went on a honeymoon, and forgot to publish the original article as to my absence and vacation. Whoops! Well, now you know. Tomorrow morning I'll be back with stories from all over tech land. One last day of R&R; before the daily grind reclaims me... ...
  • Going to Taste of Chicago
    by Mike
    Posted July 2nd, 2009 at 3:14 pm
While blogging and gadgets are my passion and consume much of my life everyday, there is always time to sit back, take a little R&R; and have some fun. And that is exactly what I am doing starting tomorrow. I'll be headed to Chicago for some R&R; at the Taste of Chicago. If you haven't been before I suggest trying it out at least once -- tons of food, things to see, places to go. I will be back Sunday to continue delivering the news that keeps geeks going. Mike...

  • Microsoft bringing the heat - Laptop Hunter ads now showing on an iPhone near you
    by Mike
    Posted May 22nd, 2009 at 7:55 am
Microsoft as of late has been really pushing the whole "value" mentality when comparing Windows boxes to Apple powered ones. More or less, the gist of Microsoft's latest "Laptop Hunter" ads were that Microsoft is more affordable and gives you more for less. They portray Apple computers as overpriced with the consumer paying a premium for a simple fruit logo on the machine. Microsoft while still very much having a majority of the computer market by user base percentage isn't lying down and i...
  • Chicago gaining another Apple Store.
    by Mike
    Posted April 13th, 2009 at 9:23 am
If you are one of the lucky residents of Chicago land and have a thing for computers with fruit on them, today may be the start of a good week for you.  It appears as if the State Street location Apple was originally eyeing has since been abandoned instead for a more favorable (?) location located in Clybourn Corridor, a sub-neighborhood of Lincoln Park.  One may ask why Apple would give up what seems a much more favorable and highly trafficked area on State Street.  I see the proximi...
  • Dell XT2 coming Wednesday?

So tablet computers are you thing.  You go simply ga ga over being able to one hand your computer and just yank that screen all over the place whenever you please.  If you didn't catch on with Dell's XT1 fret not as part 2 will apparently be here soon.  The XT2 has been leaked!  Engadget was able to score some information that appears as if it could be a legitimate launch worthy sheet.  The specs: 1.2GHz or 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors  12.1" Multi-touch display Support f...

I have finally finished the switch to the new layout.  Some of you may have noticed as navigating from page to page stuff moving around or the entire theme changing back and forth.  I finally have gotten all of the bugs worked out (I think...it's late).  On the home page I now have a "Featured Posts" section so take a minute to check that out too if you haven't already read those articles.    Do you like the new look?  Take a second to shout out below and let me know.  Also, anyone lookin...

You'll notice from time to time while visiting that the layout/theme will change as you jump from page to page.  I happen to be in the process of using a new template, however am having some problems getting it to format correctly for my blog.  In the mean time I am using this theme because my previous Mac styled theme had a glitch in the sidebar that I could not resolve.  I don't know a whole lot of HTML so if anyone out there does please email as I could really use the help.  Thank you ...
