T-Mobile Bound Samsung Hercules To Feature 4.5″ Super AMOLED Plus Display And 1.2GHz Dual-Core Snapdragon?
Over the last 6-12 months Verizon has been nailing it when it comes to Android, at many times stealing the thunder from T-Mobile. And while T-Mobile started the whole Android revolution, Verizon has picked up the baton and ran like mad. The recent T-Mobile G2X is one recent exception in that it is easily one of the best Android phones currently on the market. But as soon as Verizon can answer with a dual-core, 4.3-4.5-inch display packing, LTE capable, stock Android device, the battle will escalate two-fold. Though T-Mobile isn’t sitting down as a new leaked device by the name of “Hercules” looks to join the party packing quite a punch of its own.
The rumored specs as scooped by ThisIsMyNext include a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 4.5-inch 480 x 800 Super AMOLED Plus display, Android 2.3, NFC support, HSPA+ 42 Mbps capability, 16 GB ROM/1 GB RAM + 32 GB of SD storage, and 8-megapixel rear-facing w/ 1080p video recording.
The Hercules features not only massive specs, but a massive price as well which according to ThisIsMyNext which is claimed to push north of $350! We’ll consider this a typo/guestimate for now considering the use of a non-Samsung made processor in flagship Samsung device is a bit odd. Though such things will obviously be cleared up as we near the rumored August release date.
While we’d take LTE over T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network any day, there’s certainly plenty to love here. With said, we’ll be sure to stay on top of the T-Mobile Hercules as the story develops.
