  • RetroN3 NES: Sega Genesis, and SNES all-in-one!
    by Mike
    Posted July 7th, 2010 at 7:57 am
If you're like one of the countless other kids (and even some adults) who grew up during the 90's, you've no doubt acquired your own fair share of gaming systems. For some, they became the objects of garage sales on the $10 table. For others, a box, an attic, and some dust fit the bill. Wherever they ended up, you can't help but get an itch to play them every now and then. But what if you don't have the console anymore and are left with boxes of old game cartridges to several different syst...
  • Pac-man iPhone 4 wallpaper takes the cake.
    by Mike
    Posted July 6th, 2010 at 7:08 am
One small feature (if you could call it that) introduced with iPhone 4 and iOS 4 was user changeable backgrounds on the main icon screen. Obviously, solid colors or simple background work best. While I've understandably seen some truly atrocious user-created attempts at design, this Pac-man wallpaper is easily one of the geekiest and coolest wallpapers for any iPhone 4/iOS 4 user. What do you guys and gals think? (more...)...
  • Classic Cassette tape iPhone case. Oh yeah.

Need something a little "different" for your next iPhone case? The buck stops here as they'd say. The Retro Cassette Tape iPhone case is not only a handy case, but an excellent testament to your ultra nerdy ways. (more...)...
  • GoldenEye lives!
    by Mike
    Posted June 15th, 2010 at 1:39 pm
The Nintendo 3DS -- nifty. GoldenEye making a comeback on the Wii -- Epic! For someone who is still considered a "young whipper snapper" by many age groups, news of a classic (to me) such as GoldenEye literally has me shaking. The remake features Daniel Craig as Bond, kicking out the old favorite Pierce Brosnan. That right there may upset some more hardcore Bond loyalists, but I'm more interested in the actual gameplay. The original GoldenEye is hands down one of the best shooter games ...
  • When old meets new…again: The OLED Steampunk Watch
    by Mike
    Posted June 14th, 2010 at 7:07 am
You know how it is -- blending the old with the new. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. In the case of this Steampunk-ified time keeper complete with OLED display, I'd say yes, it did work quite well. With a 128 x 128 display, temperature gauge, and range finder, not only is this a timeless accessory, it's an actual usable piece of gadgetry as well. Don't ya love it when you can actually use that stylish tech? Gallery after the jump... (more...)...
  • Macintosh Classic reborn as iPad holder.
    by Mike
    Posted June 9th, 2010 at 12:21 pm
Are you a true Mac loyalist. I mean, really pure/loyal? In that case, you could just go buy any iPad stand that would work just fine. They're essentially all similar. But if you want to stand out from the crowd and show off your modding skills all at the same time, you need one of these -- the Macintosh Classic iPad Stand. Using the hollowed out shell of a Macintosh Classic, this iPad stand is far and wide the coolest I've seen yet. You know the drill...video right inside... (more......
  • The 8-track reborn into iPod slinging retro-mod..
    by Mike
    Posted June 7th, 2010 at 7:31 am
If you're like many-a-aging gadget freaks, you've no doubt accumulated your fair share of electronic gadgetry over the years. I'm sure at least a few of you still have 8-tracks sitting in the basement collecting dust. Why not do something with them? Give them a second chance at life. That's exactly what one modder, "themadhacker", did. He took an old 8-track and rearranged it's innards so that an iPod Mini could fit inside and configured it so that magnetic head would play music from the...
  • Start your morning off right — Space Invader Soap
    by Mike
    Posted June 7th, 2010 at 6:26 am
Some people prefer wheaties. Others kick off the morning with bacon and eggs. Me? I'm a simpler being, instead opting for Space Invader Soap. No, I don't eat soap if that's what you're getting at. But I don't eat first thing in the morning, hence the whole "starting off" thing. The food comes after I don't smell like a foot. Nothin' like sudsin' up with some intergalactic space bots forever held hostage in a mixture of oils and minerals. Hop inside for the link... (more...)...
  • The rave in a box: Glowing TRON Nintendo mod. You supply the fog machine…
    by Mike
    Posted June 2nd, 2010 at 10:25 pm
Another day, another NES mod. Today (well, tonight for me) we're going to look at the Glowing TRON Theme Nintendo. As the name implies, this NES glows. But not just reactively. The UV powder and paint charge and actually glow on their own for a decent amount of time after the blacklight is pulled away. Trippy! Now all we need is a fog machine, some thumpin' beats, and someone willing to whip this bad boy around in the air. Yeah, retro rave here we come! Check it out after the jump... ...

While many of the so called "hardcore" classic gamers already have gigabytes upon gigabytes of old ROMs, a few of you out there may want to stay more on the legal side of things. Today, Steam is making that a great deal easier with 11 new classic Sega Genesis games ripe for the pickin'. The best part is that they're only $2.99. Catch the list inside... (more...)...
  • Commodore USA readying Eee PC Keyboard slayer?
    by Mike
    Posted May 31st, 2010 at 4:42 pm
Gone are the days of the Commodore's reign in the gaming world. Or is it? A new rumor circulating this fine Memorial Day pegs claimed Commodore USA rights holder, Barry Altman, has a new trick up his sleeve in the form Eee PC Keyboard rival. I say claimed as Commodore Gaming has gone on the record to say that Barry Altman is basically full of crap when it comes to "his rights". Not that Commodore Gaming has done anything interesting in the last decade anyway... This rumored device doe...
